My really good friend just told me today he wanted to die ... It crushed me because I don't know what to say or do to help him . He won't return my text or calls and Im so worried I will be to late to help him .. How do I help him but not make things worse then what they are right now ?

Yes pray for him or If you can - go to him, pray with him, if he is not someone who believes then pray for him, you do not have to pray aloud if you don't think he'd wish to hear. You can speak to Jesus and God with your mind and heart. Being alone can leave us with only our own thoughts, if he is in not so good a state of mind a friend/company or even a phone call or talking giving him other things to think about can help. If it is something between the two of you then communicate. Do not close the door on communication and don't be afraid to tell him how you feel, even if there's no reply's always leave a door open, even if he closes it open it again, eventually he will take the invite to come in. He will still read his texts/hear his messages and even if he doesn't accept them right away he'll know you're there and that you care.

The bible says "love never fails"
I think people will always respond to that.
