How to delete a thread?

Am I overlooking something?? Can someone help me with very simple details on how to delete a thread?? On one of my previous posts I don't even see a tab that says edit/delete like my other posts have. I'm not sure why. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You only have 5 minutes to delete or edit a post. After that you're stuck. Mods will not delete or edit posts for you after 5 minutes unless you break the rules or there is personal information that shouldn't be posted. So be sure before you send a post you are sure the information is correct and you are to have it shared.
Also, when you have questions on the site you can post them in the User2User Tech section. That section is made for people to post such questions, or any technical questions, for users to try to help each other.
