I have a question that never occurred to me before.
When Jesus was on the Cross, He said to the thief
who obviously accepted Him as his Savior, then and
there. Jesus said to him, "Today you shall be with
me in Paradise."
The question comes to mind. Did Jesus' Spirit go to
Paradise as His body lay here for 3 days? Those words
"Today you shall be with me in Paradise" makes me
think since the spirit of the thief had to leave his body,
Paradise existed for the those who passed on.
Any thoughts ?

Could it be that, since we have the Trinity - Father, Son, Holy Spirit - that Jesus was speaking in the context of the thief being in the presence of the Father when he died on his cross?

So it is just as it is now when the spirit leaves the body?
