My favorite Biblical Character is the Woman at the Well.
John 4:
7
There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. [SUP]8 [/SUP](For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
[SUP]14 [/SUP]But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

My favourite is Daniel. i love his uncompromising nature and faith in his God, even though he dwelt in a land where few acknowledged his God (hmm..sounds familiar,no?)

why do you like the woman at the well?

I like the woman at the well because she did not know Jesus.
I can relate to her because there was a time I felt unclean.
I was dry and thirsty. I needed to drink of the Living Water
Jesus offered. I can relate to being a sinner in need of Jesus
and knowing I have Him living in me. If I fail to take my eyes
off Him, I become dry. The Word gives me the Living Water
I need to feel full to keep going on this path I walk before
He comes for me.

Thank you for asking. And thank you for responding ~
Daniel ~ Very strong man of God.

Ehud.

"
After Ehud had presented the tribute, he sent on their way those who had carried it. But on reaching the stone images near Gilgal he himself went back to Eglon and said, “Your Majesty, I have a secret message for you.”The king said to his attendants, “Leave us!” And they all left.
Ehud then approached him while he was sitting alone in the upper room of his palace and said, “I have a message from God for you.” As the king rose from his seat, Ehud reached with his left hand, drew the sword from his right thigh and plunged it into the king’s belly. Even the handle sank in after the blade, and his bowels discharged. Ehud did not pull the sword out, and the fat closed in over it. Then Ehud went out to the porch; he shut the doors of the upper room behind him and locked them."

Judges 3:18-23

I am curious why did you choose him ?
I read the verses below, and had no recall
of reading these before. Anyway, do you care
to share why you chose him ? Thanks ~J~K~2

I like the stories of both Ruth and Esther.
Me too. I had good relationship with my Mother in law.
Esther was a beautiful character.

Do you find something particular about the two ladies that stands out ?
You don't have to share if you don't want to. It is fun to learn about the
characters, but also each other ~ J~K~2

Yes i don't mind sharing. I just like the way that Ruth gives up everything just to be with her mother-in-law Naomi. and Esther I just like her faithfulness.

Acts 7:54-8:2 Stephen is probably one of my top three favorites.

Contemporary English Version (CEV)

Stephen Is Stoned to Death

[SUP]54 [/SUP]When the council members heard Stephen’s speech, they were angry and furious. [SUP]55 [/SUP]But Stephen was filled with the Holy Spirit. He looked toward heaven, where he saw our glorious God and Jesus standing at his right side.[SUP][a][/SUP] [SUP]56 [/SUP]Then Stephen said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right side of God!”
[SUP]57 [/SUP]The council members shouted and covered their ears. At once they all attacked Stephen [SUP]58 [/SUP]and dragged him out of the city. Then they started throwing stones at him. The men who had brought charges against him put their coats at the feet of a young man named Saul.[SUP][b][/SUP]
[SUP]59 [/SUP]As Stephen was being stoned to death, he called out, “Lord Jesus, please welcome me!” [SUP]60 [/SUP]He knelt down and shouted, “Lord, don’t blame them for what they have done.” Then he died.
8 [SUP]1-2 [/SUP]Saul approved the stoning of Stephen. Some faithful followers of the Lord buried Stephen and mourned very much for him.

And yes ... this is the name Saul, later named Paul, who wrote the majority of the NT.

Why the woman of the well?

I like that part -as many- she was somewhat an evangelist. He! He!

I´m unsure of the favorite character after Jesus. I have liked many characters. Tom Powell used to say I liked David, but I changed my mind when I "saw" what he did with Betsabeth. I have enjoyed Joseph, Jacob´s son. And have shed tears when I "see" Jesus asking Peter: "Do you love me more than these, Peter?"

No! No favorites! I admire a lot of them and, I think I dislike Laban and his father´s trick against Jacob. I also dislike the former husband of Abigail. I like Abigail attitude, which I compare to Ruth´s.

No favorite! I guess.

Elijah. He was strong, he stood firm when he might die for his beliefs. He could look and dress different, and it didn't matter to him. He could live for long periods completely alone and not feel lonesome. Even when there was no way to feed himself, he never lost faith in God to feed him. He even managed when everything looked completely discouraging, that perhaps his lifework meant nothing. I think the drama of Elijah starting wood burning even though he soaked the wood with water when all the prophets of Baal had failed is one of the most dramatic scenes of the bible.
