My thoughts about Christmas:

God, I thank You for Christmas. I am thankful to You that You have made of Christmas something valuable. Before I knew You and Jesus my Christmas was filled with beautiful parcels worth nothing. Dear God I thank You for Your Parcel. Your gift did not glitter and it seemed to be of no value. It was different from all the other parcels I was used to getting. I thank You, Dear God, that You gave me courage to open YOUR gift. I am very grateful to You that You showed me that You can make of something that looks worthless the most precious thing..
... I think about You Jesus.
You were chosen to be born in a stable. You slept your first nights in a manger. You should have got a castle of gold to live in and a cover made of finest silk to hold you warm. You did not get these things. You did not need them because God held you warm with His great care and love.

I am grateful to You, God, because You showed me that all the riches on the earth don't mean anything. If I were without money You would still love me. I am grateful to You because You taught me that my presents don't need to be expensive to be valuable.
You gave Your gift of love and You taught me also to give of love.
Dear God You gave the most valuable You had and for free. You gave Jesus!

When I decorate the Christmas tree I think about many things. I am thinking about You Jesus!! I am looking at the tree... In my eyes it is as naked as you were when you were born. I am "clothing" the tree like God clothes You, with care. When I take the Christmas star in my hand I think about your birthday, the star that was shining over Bethlehem. When I put the star on the top of the tree I am thinking about Your greatness. You are the greatest that God has created. You are sitting on the top of the throne next to God.

When I put the candles on the tree and light up I think that You are the light of this world. When I follow You, I am no longer in the darkness.

I put small Christmas tree balls on the tree. One ball has no beginning and no end, it goes round and round... Then I think about Your love and care that lasts forever.

When I see the glitter from the Christmas tree I can see the heavenly glory, the glory I hope to share with You one day.

When I give water to the tree I think about when You, Jesus, are watering me with the Word of God. After Christmas I "undress" the tree but I never take You away from my life. You will always be in my heart.

A while after Christmas the needles are falling but the branches are left on the tree. I see You as the tree and me one of the branches. I hold on to You in the same way the branches are holding on to the tree. The needles are the wealth of the tree. They are dropping off. One day I will also leave all my earthly riches to be with You in eternity.

You understand why I with happiness, every year decorate the Christmas tree in the honour of You. Before, on Christmas I had nothing and now suddenly I have everything...
Thank you Jesus for Christmas.

I agree 100%. So much better than the whole Santa Clause thing. Is it OK if I take this and email it off to my friends and family? This has brought tears of Joy in my eyes and would love to share it with others...

God bless you, and know Jesus loves you VERY much,

in His love,

Donald

Hi,

It´s okay... you can share my "Christmas" with your friends.
There is no room for Santa Claus in our home, NEVER.
I think it´s very wrong when many parents tell lies to their children about Santa.
In this world too many people forget Jesus completely.
God bless you and follow always Jesus footprints,
in His service,
Liisa

Oh I totally agree on the santa clause thing. I am sure St. Nick (if he really was real) was a good man, but that is no reason to destroy the meaning of Christmas.

God bless you and thank you,

in His love,

Donald
