PS: Although the poll itself is about first set of holes, feel free to comment, ppl, about any subsequent sets of holes, which are also very widespread and popular.

Had mine done when I was 6 months old, most of my cousins also when they were six months old (seems to be the age in our family). Still wearing earrings 23 and a half years later and have never pierced again since 6 months.

Do most of you guys (you're in NZ, right?) seem to have it done one time, with one pair of holes? or sometimes with an extra pair maybe?

I had my first piercings at ten or eleven. Had to get them redone twice since I never kept up and now I'm doubtful on getting any again anytime soon. xD

I think it should be a choice the kid should have if they ever get any at a reasonable age. They would be aware of the pain that comes with getting them pierced. It makes me wonder how or why people choose to have them done for their babies...

It's part of the culture among millions of Hispanic families.

I don't think it is a culture for Hispanic families..I know lots of Hispanic familys that don't like earring because the say it is a sin..I don't agree with them but that is what they think...

I know....Latin America....I think all races agree and don't agree with piercings...I am personally not a fan of piercings..it wasn't my choice to have my ears pierced either..so I am not reall certain on cultures and piercings..

Everyone has preferences, I guess...

Some people like it such a lot that they have their ears done a few times.

Sarah: It's the category with most votes so far, anyway.

It's mainly girls then. For guys that have their ears done, the average age is significantly older, probably.

Blessings.

Well, men of all ages do it, too, these days.

But I guess one needs to experience the wish for earrings, first, before getting them.

Blessings.

I had my first piercings when I was somewhere between 6-8,..It was for my Aunts wedding, so I could wear pretty earrings. Lol

My second set of piercings, were around 13 or 14 I think. For some reason my parents, mostly my dad, was hesitant to let me, But I don't think anyone has a problem with it now.

I rarely wear any earrings anyway. lol

ronnie2796:

Thanks. Not sure why there would be hesitation, because doing it is widely practised by Godly women.

Blessings.
