I'm 21 years old and have only completed 2 years of university, having taken the 2012 school year off and this semester, as well. I was just accepted to a highly regarded institution to continue my education in a more local setting, but I don't want to enroll. I don't have the passion to go back to school and waste time on nonsense for a degree to look good in the eyes of man. I feel a true Christian community would not judge me for having not completed a degree. I want to do something that puts Jesus Christ front and center, as my faith is the only purpose and joy in my life. Without a college degree and no desire to go back to school, what can I realistically do that will not result in my living on the streets or forever with my parents? A prophet told me I have a calling on my life to mentor people in the ways of The Lord. How do I go about doing this with independence?

Thank you all

Want to know how to live your life for God? Read Matthew 25...

What ever you do, help everyone you can in every way through Christ... Do all you can... And just do everything with the love of Christ in you...

Well first of all you need to get rid of that mentality that no degree = poverty or living at home the rest of your days. I have no degree but God has guided my feet into a job where I can use my gifts he gave me and do things I enjoy doing in a way I never expected, All while raising a young family and with no tertiary education. Now I'm not saying people to go out on a limb and don't educate yourself but that's my testimony on how awesome God is in directing your path when you put everything into His capable hands :)

There is so much I want to address...seems to me your saying that on one hand you... dont care what people say..then your worried about
If the christains wont judge you....no one but God does His calling to us... He decides our plan to preach or teach...etc.
He would never tell others to tell you.....but you don't seem to realize that we are to represent God....He wants people to look at us and desire
What we have...if this one school wasn't for you thats understandable.....why not continue your schooling on Biblical studies....in order for
Us to help others we need to be educated in the Word.....I quit colledge and it is probably the only thing in my life I regret.....
Go to God ask Him what you should do...you dont want to lead people without being throughly prepared...
Oh yeah as for your statement on old people....its called wisdom...and alot of faith.......lol

I think you need to live in the real world!

There is a saying that a Christian can be so heavenly minded that they are NO earthly use!

You were in university for a purpose and that was to get educated, it was where God placed you, I suggest you go back to school and finish it, when you have finished it, God will open another door for you! Rev 3v8

Secular work done for the Lord Jesus is JUST as holy and sanctified as doing ANY ministry for the Lord Jesus! Col 3 (esp. 3v23,24)

The key to guidance is that you keep doing what the Lord told you to do UNTIL He tells you otherwise!

You can find a bit of a study Here on seeking and receiving guidance from God...

Yahweh Shalom...

I don't want to devote my life to Jesus anymore. He is not the Creator I thought. I want to simply drop dead and not exist, but it won't happen. I hope I spiral into holy hell. God damn this existence

Given your comment on this thread, and on another thread of yours I commented on..........I'd say the very first thing you need to do is give some serious thought to what exactly it means to be "saved." To be a new born believer............from your comments, I see no evidence of such in you............just saying........

So, either, you need to seek Christ, or you are the latest one to come here to post such hate filled comments about God and Jesus.......dunno which.............

QUOTE FROM YOUR THREAD "IF GOD LOVES YOU SO MUCH......."

Let's face it, He isn't the motherly gentle Creator new Christians like myself think. That is our subjective view of the brimstone and fire throwing objective God of consuming fire. He is a hyper-masculine king who will beat and chastise you like a mule into perfection for His glory. It's not so comforting....

No offense taken. You are right, my comments were coming from a sinful heart as well as poor intentions, and I apologize. I also know I am not ready by any stretch of the imagination to lead anyone anywhere at anytime. I need, as you said, to really re-evaluate where I stand with The Lord and what I may or may not be (saved).

Hello p_rehbein

I am so shocked, that a man of your age and experience, would tell a 21 year old (young) believer, that she is not saved. How dare you tread on the sensitivity of a young believer like this. Whatever you may think concerning her words or actions, it is not for you to cause her to doubt her salvation.

The Lord knows those who are His,
I pray that His perfect will, will be fully done in this young lady.
That she will be saved to the uttermost, and grow in grace and truth and in the knowledge of Him.
That she will become mature and stable in heart and mind, and trust in His promises in Christ Jesus.

He is able to make her stand.
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Well, what can I say............have you read all of the comments here and on other threads? Or, are you just responding to my comment without proper research?

There is a real problem today with young people who have been drawn into a "church environment" and I say "church" but not meaning Bible based church........rather the "feels good" "ear tickling" "prosperity" based operations all too often found around the country; and these young people are told so very many unbiblical things, and led to believe if they accept what specific snake oil that particular "church" might be selling, they are saved.

I don't know this person very well, but have read numerous comments, and I see a distinct "swinging" to and fro between Christian statements, and statements rebuking God and the Church........Now, not for nothing, but in my experience a saved believer who has truly been filled with the Holy Spirit will not do such..........

And, I also believe that GM777 can, if they sincerely wish to, find a true Bible based church, and enter into fellowship, and learn of Bible based beliefs/teachings, and experience the true joy of God's Saving Grace.

(you could start with reading comment #7 this thread, and then others on other threads)

Quoted from GM777 (thread of the same title):

How do I lead a daily Christian life
What does it take? Prayer, repentance, reading the Word, taking thoughts captive to Christ, walking in love, sharing the Gospel, fighting temptation. What does it take? Do we keep the Sabbath, feast days, etc? What laws must be written on out hearts? Thank you

Quoted from GM777..........thread this Forum........titled: If God loves us so much

If God loves us so much...
How come He is going to watch from on high as the soon coming Anti-Christ slowly beheads the saints as their family and children watch them scream in agony?

How come He allowed the Somalian man to die an undignified and torturous be-heading? I thought Jesus died to give freedom, not to let people die fates worse than that of the cross.

Let's face it, He isn't the motherly gentle Creator new Christians like myself think. That is our subjective view of the brimstone and fire throwing objective God of consuming fire. He is a hyper-masculine king who will beat and chastise you like a mule into perfection for His glory. It's not so comforting....

Not comforting to think that scarcely will the righteous be saved. That few find the narrow path. That most Christians are going to Hell and the Earth shudders as the approaching great and terrible day of The Lord inches closer. That Jesus will turn crying and wailing people with no understanding straight to the torture of Hell, including most Christians. That is entirely scriptural.

Makes me want to...err...just not waste my time on this jealous God anymore...

Hi GM777, I just wanted to let you know that God does not look at you the way the world sees you. Even if you are condemned by people, God always sees you as beautiful and amazing and full of so much potential. God has such a great plan for your life and he will never leave you nor forsake you. :)
