Has hugging is good to be practiced on the fellowship of Christians?

I have read this blog online. I made a mistake earlier sending Private Messages to my CC friends and sent them the link of the site that my sole purpose was to share only the photo and the comments as stated below.

I supposed not to make a new thread, but to correct my mistake, I have considered this a blessing in disguise. :)

I don’t know personally the writer of this blog, but I grew intrigued by her message and would like to know your thoughts about the topic: A LITTLE HUG PLEASE.
A blog by Cindy Kozak on another website:
Some activities can boost your health and cost you nothing. In today’s world of high-priced medicines, that seems like a real bargain. One of the easiest activities is a simple hug. It’s quick and noncommittal and provides some real health benefits.
A hug can lower your blood pressure and your heart rate and boost your immune system… and it certainly can make you and the target of your hug feel wanted. The reason for this is a brain chemical called oxytocin, a.k.a. the “love hormone”. One hug often is enough to get you through an otherwise stressful day.
So in this age, where human contact is often looked at as inappropriate behavior, I encourage people to embrace the hug. Society will be better for it.

Yes, I do hug. I don't give or receive enough of them. But I do love hugging family and friends and I can't wait to hug Arlene. :)

I have really never liked giving or getting hugs. I only hug someone if they are family.

Naturally, I don't force hugs on people. If they're not obliging, I'll leave them be. :)

I think hugging is a fantastic way of greeting people. I hug friends when I greet them., but it depends on their comfort level.

Not so much into hugging as Judas hugged Jesus and betrayed him with a kiss on the cheek as well! I guess this is why I do not hug much at all! LOL I understand the hug,and am glad there are people who are so free to give them, but not unto me is all I am saying. LOL A simple nod or wave will do for me.

I love giving and receiving hugs. It does make you and the other person feel loved, reduces stress, and shows your affection. Although I think a long hug is the only one that reduces stress. As far as using Judas as an excuse for not liking hugs, think on this...Jesus must have been ok with hugging or Judas wouldn't have thought of hugging Him in the first place. Just say you don't feel comfortable with hugging and leave it at that.

Nope. I never initiate hugs. Not unless i were dating someone. But family, friends, no. I'm not big on touch in general outside of dating/marriage. I often find it awkward and uncomfortable even with friends or family.

As a teenager, sure. As an adult, I haven't experienced it. How long is too long? Doesn't a long hug become known as a cuddle? When I hug friends or family, the hugs last maybe 5 seconds max but I do enjoy long hugs from close family.

Never. In regards to guys, I hug my son and guys who are my close friends, but the rest I just shake hands with.

Exactly. Also, when I hug a guy I usually pat him on the back and then pull off. I don't let it prolong. If he is crying, I would turn sideways and put my arm around his shoulder.

You don't have to be a guy for that situation to occur. It is awkward when the hug goes on so long that you start wondering if you should ask, "Are you hugging me or holding me?"

That's so sad it makes me want to hug you :p You should probably keep your distance until I forget I read this. ;)

I hug other men without hesitation, and there are even some men that I will say openly to them in front of any audience that I love them. These are men who will respond the same without hesitation. These are my Christian Brothers. Many of them are big and tough enough to squish anyone like a bug, too.
I hug women hesitantly, rarely initiating. I am a divorced man, and careful both to avoid the appearance of impropriety and to avoid not sending the wrong signals. There are a small number of women in my life, however, who I will initiate hugs with, or who I will not hesitate in hugging.

As for the over lingering hug... I have a very tall friend who will lean down on me when hugging me, and clutch me tightly. Sometimes the combination is enough to prohibit my breathing. If I can't breath, I express that, otherwise, I will take the full force of the hug, which at times may list seven minutes or more.... Some days I figure my friend might need that much of a hug. Other days I know I need that much or more. I give up on the awkwardness of it, because I know the heart behind it is filled will a pure Christian love.

I love hugs....the bigger and tighter the better......the word says.....Greet one another with
a Holy kiss....churches of Christ salute you.......I think hugs are just as good....
hugs give you strength to endure......and it shows we are
capable of truly loving the way God says........
So hug on brothers and sisters....nothing to be afraid of.....thats what those arms are for.....
To show each other we really care.... cause sometimes you cant find the words.....hugs speak
volumes.......

I watched a grown man kiss his father on the lips in church the other day. It was sweet.
