Society makes it very hard to express those kinds of things. They are just probably not used to it. It happens like that with a lot of ppl at my church, even though my dad is always preaching against spiritual complacency. But they just don't seem to get what he is saying. It discourages him, but all anyone can do is be a living epistle. And be the change we wish to see in the world. Some people will catch on. It just takes someone sticking it out. Truth can be a hard but rewarding life.
It isn't our job as Pastor to change people....If the Holy Spirit can't convict them, nobody can.
But.... the good news is that as we remain faithful to God's plan & will, He will reward us for our faithfulness, whether others change or not. God rewards us for faithfulness, not results. If we warn them & teach them just as God desires, God is pleased with us. And oh, how good it is to know we please Him!
Imagine the rewards the OT prophets would have received if it was based on changed lives.... Jeremiah would still be weeping.
