LOL, I'd say just take a break. Things get heated a lot but they eventually cool down. Besides, if you do wanna come back if you end up getting your account deleted, there will be a $5 fee. Just take a break from CC for a while and come back later. :)

Might I suggest Story Time With Random Words Thread in Misc forum so far no arguing over there and the stories can be amusing - some might even make you laugh.

I disagree. Arguing is like a tennis ball going back and forth- it is the same every time- "Yes it is" "No it isn't" "Yes it is" "No it isn't" and you're right- there's no point in that. However debating is different- each time there is presented a new thought to consider. Arguing is angry and yelling. Debating is a calm discussion. It is certainly OK for Christians to discuss the bible (in a humble, respectful manner). Keep in mind that you cannot hear someone's tone of voice through text. But you're right, if participating here angers you, you should leave until that is no longer the case (if ever). I for one enjoy being here, seeing people's different point of view, and gaining topic scriptures for my collection.

i hope you understand all these things in a Spiritual perspective manner, according to the spiritual sound doctrine knowledge justification. For some of us it is not just a chat forum of expectations, but a place to labor and built up others as a servant. By the Help of the HOLY SPIRIT, if you study the epistles of the Apostles, you will discover they were highlighting building up issues and arguments among new believers and instruct to bring them into 'one' order. This is also a foundation that destroy arguments, within the churches.

i am sorry, if i have not been helpful to you.

There's other things you do besides debate and argue. But if you feel to go then you probably should. I know I've wanted to a few times lol

You will get arguments when people continually push their cults agendas and try to convince everyone they are enlightened and have extra understanding and insight into their claims and that we should all just go along with it and join them.

I think this place is great compared to another forum. I was on TOL (Theology Online) for many years and many times my soul was vexed there by all the darkness and hatred. Here at CC (Christian Chat), I at least feel like I have Christian friends. Also, self professing believers are not allowed to swear at me or attack me (with no end) personally like they did on TOL, too. But I know how you feel. It is a matter of just tuning out people and talking to folks in love. But if God's calling you to take a break and to do a specific study in God's Word, by all means, follow the Lord on this my friend.

I totally agree with this for sure....like it has been said many a time...if you cant stand the heat...get out of the kitchen...

A sure sign of immaturity is being easily offended and debate is exactly that debate...sometimes heated, sometimes not....at the end of the day if you cant stand a little heat then how can one even expect to put up with the real tribulation when it comes..........! I wonder how many so called Christians will fold when it comes to loosing their head for the cause of Christ and refusing to take the mark.......!

Certain topics seem to bring out the worst in us. There should always be mutual respect of others' positions though.

Paul did a lot of arguing with the Judaizers.

Probably so but I think the bible tells us to reason with them out of the scriptures.

Well I'm pretty new here, but I agreed with many of your post and liked them, but if you feel the Lord is leading you in that direction then best wishes. It's too bad the arguing is the reason why, I know it can be frustrating some times and we forget that He uses all of us for His purpose.

Example- the pacifist thread, they go back and forth saying "you can protect", and "peace at all cost", yet I see that we need both kinds of people here, and He uses each of us for His ends. We are human and do see things from our own limited perspectives. I'm brand new and have already contributed to this problem, but I learned from it and have grown closer to Him because of it.

Like I said, if the Spirit is leading you to leave the you must follow Him, but I enjoyed getting you read your comments for the little while I could. May God bless you and draw you closer every day.

I used to be fairly involved at TOL as well and I agree completely with your sentiments on that site, as well as your sentiments here.
