I know Christians are not suppose to question God but at times I find myself questioning Him a lot and this is pushing me farther and farther away from Him.

Welcome, FallenStar! I hope you find great fellowship and encouragement here at CC. :D

How are you questioning God? Do you mean you ask God a lot of questions? Or do you mean you are questioning whether or not to accept Him?

We are expected to come boldly to God's throne of grace and share everything on our heart with Him. The Lord said if we lack wisdom and we want answers, to come to Him and ask. He will answer. There is nothing wrong with asking our Father questions. How else are we going to learn of Him?

Whoever told you Christians are not allowed to question God hasn't read the bible. Read the psalms for starters. David questioned God all the time BUT he remembered the times God had been there for him like the in Psalm 22:1-5

Psalm 22:1-5New International Version (NIV)

Psalm 22[a]

For the director of music. To the tune of “The Doe of the Morning.” A psalm of David.

1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from saving me,
so far from my cries of anguish?
2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,
by night, but I find no rest.[b]

3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;
you are the one Israel praises.[c]
4 In you our ancestors put their trust;
they trusted and you delivered them.
5 To you they cried out and were saved;
in you they trusted and were not put to shame.

If you have questions that are really bothering you and they are driving you away from God then ask them. Ask God whatever you want. God isn't afraid of you and he isn't going to cry or feel bad cause you ask him something that seems hard. He is a big boy now. Go ahead and ask him whatever you need to.

Welcome to Christian Chat, FallenStar. I suppose there is nothing wrong with questioning the Lord as long as you go on obeying his commandments. If you are praying constantly, you get to know him and he explains a lot of things to you.

Welcome. Sometimes when you get into a questioning time it's tough to get closer to him when it's pushing you farther away. Sometimes it's good to keep pushing closer though in spite of it. Not that you aren't questioning still, but going closer to God to find the answers. Finding people who you can talk to and pray with about those questions. Don't be afraid of God when it comes to questions. He will lead you to answers even if they aren't the ones you expect.

It is not wrong to question ever. It is actually a good thing. If we didn't question, we wouldn't be human. I question God all the time why does he test me, why does he do this to me. And I get no answer. But I know he's still there, in my doubting, in my questioning. Amazing, isn't it?
