Hello I am new

Hi my name is Kory. I am new not just to this forum but to Christianity. I have heard bits and pieces of the bible growing up and I knew some stories but I never took the time to REALLY get into any religion. I have changed my ways. Not too far into my commitment to Christ, I cannot see myself going back. I'm enjoying every step up learning about and loving Jesus

Welcome and blessings. I suspect everyone here will have their own $0.02 on what book is a good one for getting started with Bible reading, but I am partial to Mark. Mark is great at getting to the point. Just the facts. Almost newspaper reporter style.

That is wonderful to hear! That sounds a lot like my own story of discovering my faith and coming to God. I hope we can encourage you and support you in these new steps. It's not always easy, but it's always worth it

I believe I was an answer to my mother's prayers. She told me when I told her about my new found faith that she prayed all of the time for her family to love god. Although I was introduced into my faith when my father about 3 years ago was diagnosed with cancer by every doctor we went to. We went to the best doctors we could possibly find. I heard my mother crying in the bathroom and I immediately thought that something happened to my brother who was in college in Florida at time. She told me they had found cancerous substances in my father's chest. He had been sick around that time. I just remember hugging my dad and telling him I love him and my older brother was crying my little brother was crying as well. My mother prayed and prayed and prayed. All day. They went to doctors who told them it was cancer for sure but she kept praying. When it was all said and done it was an extremely rare virus and my father is completely fine today. Jesus saved my father. I believe that it was gods way of telling my family that he loves us and we should come to him. I sadly say though that me and my mother are the only ones of faith in my family even after this event. I pray that my family becomes faithful one day.
