Sooooo... as you have seen, we get a few strays from the Bible Discussions Forum coming into our threads to rant. Usually they're kept very busy in the BDF forum though, and don't have time to muddy the waters here.

Welcome to the forum. If you want a snapshot of what is going on, go to the Singles forum and look for "Streams of Consciousness" thread. It's kinda like a chatroom that is not in realtime.

I am somewhat disappointed in this website. This site has focused on denominational differences, such as pointing the finger at Catholics and name calling. Wow. Good luck with that.
I suggest a glance at Matthew 5:22
Welcome to the internet where not everyone is going to act or behave how you want. You only get what you put into something and focusing only on the negative is sad. I personally ignore the entire bible discussion because I really don't like the bickering and so forth there. One has the learn how to filter the negativity anywhere. Because if we leave whenever something wrong is happening there won't be anywhere left to go -- can't go to church because some people are doing this or that, etc.

best advice is either:

1.) develop rhinoceros skin or,

2.) avoid the bible forum altogether,

I guess I was a little perturbed to see 'heresy' next to 'administrator'.
Oh well, no worries.

Matt, I strive to find the best in people and accept them for who they are. I welcome you and encourage you to explore CC some more. There are really great people on here that don't have a mean bone in their body.
If you stumble upon something offensive, I suggest you turn the other cheek and find a different thread. I tend to stay in the family, ladies, and misc. forums. I am sure that you too can find your own place among us.
God Bless!

You need to have your big boy pants on to go in there. There are days when even I am distressed by the level of hostility and anger displayed in that thread. Just not a pleasant place at times. But there is a real battle raging for the souls of men. A lot of well meaning people get caught up in the emotion and take their eyes off of Christ. Jesus can and will save all who come unto Him. Jesus will not cast out any who come to Him and seek forgiveness of their sins. Eternal life is an inheritance and a gift not a wage or a reward of merit.

Matt,
Each of is traveling a road. And each of us is at a different point along that path. Well, this is obvious stuff.

But when you add to the mix, personalities and communication types ( THIS is a "huge" relational factor often hardly ever even considered), it sometimes seems hostile and difficult to navigate. However, this is the very thing Jesus kept preaching on, and left us here to deal with...... perhaps as preparation for getting along in whatever "Heaven" turns out to be.

We often blissfully speak of Heaven being a place where there will be no differences, and we all will be one big, happy, family. I don't think this is accurate, at all. I think we will still be very much like we are here and now, WITH THE EXCEPTION that we will have, then, been endowed with a much fuller measure of grace to ACTUALLY love one another "despite" our individualities.

I don't think any of us truly has a genuine concept of what LOVE really is yet.... we are just working on it at our own pace, and in our own place.

Well Mattp, I hope you will stay.

But If you do stay try to ignore some of the menagerie that spices up life here...and will surely follow you around.
This guy for example does not know when to STFU!

why?

yahshua regularly exposed the hypocrites while they were standing right in front of him and his disciples,
and the disciples did also --- they never , never, tolerated heresy in their ranks....

oh, they spoke the truth in love to anyone as yahweh directed, but they did not ever permit EVIL LIKE THE RCC to remain in their midst.....

until later when it became politically expedient and powerful and profitable with control over people
and
constantine and his ilk with him dominated all others as much as they could
and
etc
etc
etc

All people should treat all other people with respect. It doesn't matter if you're Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, or Jew. It is always wrong to insult another person.
