I am a lucky person and I am grateful.

I am grateful for life in all its ups downs twists and turns- the low times are what have made me who I am today and led me to see the beauty in things so many take for granted.

I believe in science. I believe in evolution. But I also believe in something more and always have because no matter how far back you go....cells, DNA, atoms, big bang....there is always something "more" and something special about the mind.

I believe the bible is a moral code not necessarily fact and who am I to judge those who find happiness in things the bible may condemn.

As a lot of tough things happened in my life and I continue to live with health challenges- at 23 I am now ready to give God the place in my life that he deserves rather than turning away from him and questioning "why me, why are you doing this to me". I now believe that God lets everything happen for a reason and thank him for the strength to have gotten through obstacles that could very easily have taken my life.

Looking for open-minded people to chat to about faith and the direction I may take from here.

Welcome fix, I would love to see what makes you so excited over the science you have discovered. I am sure you could teach me a thing or two about it. And I would love to share with you about the things I have learned in Scripture as well. Look me up sometime . I would love to chat further, Bring your rain coat though, I like to sit outside under God's beautiful weather and sometimes it even rains on us Christians too....smile. Hey let me leave you with a Scripture God has put on my heart today, you have a bible right?..I hope so, if not you can always 'Bing" it up for free as they say, on the computer or smart phone. If you don't have either of those look me up I will text you the verses...smile. Anyway God bless you in here enjoy meeting different ones and thank you for your honesty, it is always a breath of fresh air....Here's that Scripture: [James 1:2-12]

hello and welcome to CC. The topic of your opening post would garner more replies in the bible forum. Not many people visit the new members forum. :)

It is good to be grateful for what we have been given. It is also good that your are now turning to God. You are not the only one that questions God asking "why?". God will answer you too, sometimes it's a shout and other times a whisper. There are plenty of open-minded people on this site and you should feel right at home. Welcome to CC.

Originally, scientists were CHRISTIANS who believed that they could better understand GOD by studying HIS creations. Today, it has reversed, sadly. People demand scientific proof over GOD's touch. Most scientists are NOT Godly people in their spiritual walk...so keep that in mind. Yes, things EVOLVE..but you did not have ancestors that swung from trees by their tails, although some of mine hung by their necks! Never, ever say that the BIBLE, GOD's Holy Word, is just " a moral code and not necessarily fact". With that ASSumption, it puts you in conflict with the Holy SpiriT who annointed it. I believe that since you and I live in the aftermath of the introduction of S.I.N into this world, we answer to our past, be it catching lung disease for smoking, developing cancers from abusing our bodies, having to be incarcerated due to evading taxes, etc. Christian or not..we still have to abide by the natural order of the universe and our man made LAWS. Yes, GOD is aware of our misfortunes and bad choices as we make them, but ultimately, we are totally responsible. Can GOD take the bad and make it good? A big hearty AMEN on that one..look into the geneology of JESUS CHRIST, Himself. THE BIBLE tells us to TEST THE SPIRITS....that is not a judgment call, it is a righteous call for those who follow CHRIST, not to put us on a higher social level but to keep us from becoming socially acceptable to the world...we are to be a peculiar people, since the world declares WAR on us the moment we accept JESUS Into our hearts. We cannot be politically correct, as a firm believer in JESUS, all the time. Those that find temporary happiness in something that the BIBLE makes clear as a condemnation are not those you need to hang a star on and follow..we need to share CHRIST with them and let the Holy Spirit do the convicting.

I challenge you to be open minded enough to seek out a firm BIBLE believing congregation that allows the Holy Spirit to be part of the daily WORSHIP there. YOU will grow spiritually and begin to understand that you just can't be a social butterfly, always in agreement with this world.
