Dreams are a way of your brain dealing with the things that happen when you're awake.
If you are dwelling on something in your wake, you'll probably dream something about in your sleep.
God does indeed talk to us through dreams.
We know that in the last days, old men will dream dreams.
Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
But why do we young folk have such cryptic dreams?
How do we make sense of them?
What are we to think of them?
How do we decipher them?
Sometimes I have such odd, evil gruesome and ludicrous dreams that I wouldn't dare share here!
It makes me think, why would God let me have such a dream as this?
But its nothing more than your brain working in auto pilot based off your fears, thoughts and sub-conscious or something you just finished watching on TV.
Sometimes I have dreams of people that I used to know that I have long since forgotten about!
In my dream I'm talking to them as though I have never lost contact with them.
Dreams are such a deep mystery to us. We know much more about them now than we did before but we still don't know why we actually have them.
One thing we can be sure of, God has given them to us for a purpose.
Dreams can speak to us in ways that our conscious brain cannot.
I often have dreams where I am able to fly. The strange thing is, they are often lucid dreams (dreams where you KNOW you are dreaming) and it seems so real you're in your dream dreaming and thinking, is this a dream or not!?
I really don't know why I have so many dreams where I can fly.
I once had a dream where I was able to fly high up in the sky and float for miles over the country using nothing but an empty crisp packet and an old lighter!
