Welcome to CC. I can only say we do get so tired too, but He said Come to Me all who are weary and heavy laden...I call every day, and cry inside. Sometimes we do not really see the blessings before us, either shortsighted or perhaps seeing those of others? I know many here would be glad to help, and the testimonies section might esp. interest you.

I do believe that JESUS heals..everything that HE wants to...including Depression...which is so easy for old satan to hitch a ride on. Apparently, you do not attend a Happy/Clappy church..which invites the Holy spirit to be part of the total worship..praising, singing, altar call, healings, deliverance, etc. What have you got to lose? Sincerily pray to GOD, your Great Physician! HE never abandons His own..HIs will is that NONE (Including YOU) perish! Seek a congregation that will help nurture, direct, growing in spiritual power and support. I see NO other way around this. Dive totally into the BIBLE (as you should) and take GOD at HIS word. HE is there for you...He's the best prescription you have.

A lot of the residents in this community suffer from depression also. I will pray for God to put a certain measure of joy of in your life. Was is it that you live for your kids and grandkids but exclude your wife? I will pray also that this site becomes a place of peace and comfort for you. Welcome to CC.

footnote: depression is >'always'< accompanied w/ b vitamin needs..... (there's a physiological part of everyone's metabolism that requires the 'b's and creates a deficiency that results in depression)

which r gettin more difficult to get than 10 years ago.

there's still 'plenty' of brands and potencies out there,
but several are packaged with filler that's ungood for the stomach....

so find if possible a good b-100 and take one 2 times a day, or three. for 3 to 6 months. presto! happy!

this does not take care of the spiritual deficiencies that are even more common.

Depression.

After years and years of patients, they still do not know what it really is other than people feel continuous pain, and all their emotions are dulled down. It could be that every positive emotion is undermined with a negative defeat, so all you feel is disappointment without end.

The problem I have with depression, which as a youngster I suffered from, is it is a lie.
I wonder if it may be true, that if we sow the right attitude to life, looking at things with a new eye, the eye of everything is a blessing and we are glad to just have one more day to live, would that lift depression. So much appears to be this massive framework of hopes, appreciation, ambition, expectation etc. collapsed in a heap, but it was always an illusion anyway, and everything is based on fluctuating things that are only temporary. Do you worry when you go down a slide that the slide will be there tomorrow? No you only care that it works now, while you are on it.

Emotions are serious things, and pain can be unbelievably bad, trauma horrible, life changing, but, life does go on, the sun does rise, there are opportunities every day. I wonder if we become victims of the quick sand we are in, and choose to stay there rather than fight to make a difference. I say this because emotions are so temporary, though debilitating, but they are just tools for a purpose and like all tools they can screw up, but you do not have to listen to them. You can reprogram yourself, occupy yourself with things so much issues go in the background. It is never a closed case.

There are numerous known causes for depression. Physical, chemical imbalance in the brain, temporary circumstances, hormonal, etc...
More is understood than the above poster suggests.

Hi thank you for your thoughts, let me say I do love my wife with a passion but am not IN LOVE with her, she has changed, she nasty, uncaring, all she thinks about is work and money, I cant physically work anymore due to a bad accident, so she thinks because of that the money she earns is hers do with what she pleases. She is first and foremost in her mind, and I am just there.

I try to talk to her but she turns it all around and blames me or she even denies it. So I have just given up. no point because I end up feeling worse than I did before I spoke to her. there is a long, long, story behind all this to

I fear immensely attending church as I feel hypocracy is rife inside them, I have seen it flourish, in the churches I was involved in early in my Christian walk. I see people coming to church adults and kids alike, only to suck it dry, if there was a free feed after service then the church would be packed, If we were giving away something one day/ evening through the week the church would be bursting at the seems. what made it worse was when we needed help with something at the church like a working bee and there was nothing in it for them, then those free loaders were no where to be found.

In the church I was involved heavily in especially the youth group, we had only about a dozen folk who were committed and attended Sunday services constantly, the other 150 were freeloaders.

If you went down through history, it would be the same. Sinners are just that sinners.
I went round on sunday with my wife to an elderly lady to help her with her house a bit. She was mourning her brother who had died, so it was mainly to be an emotional support. We saw her garden needed attention so we set to for a few hours while talking and just enjoying the sun. It was good to share.
I think we helped, but it was just a gift, freely given not expecting any return.

Now another member of the church was going round to help, but had not made it for weeks. He was disappointed in some ways we had taken this opportunity away. Now it struck me the problem was he was giving because it was a "good" thing to do, but he found it very hard to reach out in empathy to a suffering soul.

People can only be what they have become, and what the preachers have delivered them into. So many are dry in the faith, but they do not know why. It is the hidden pains, and unforgiveness, the making oneself vulnerable only to be slammed down. Being emotionally honest would be too hard, so picking irrelevent issues is so much easier.

Jesus had that problem with some of those early people who he preached to. After performing a miracle in feeding over 5,000 people with five loves of bread and two fish later they came around again looking more for something for their bellies than their souls and Jesus called them on it,

[SUP]"[/SUP]Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. [SUP]27 [/SUP]Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.” (John 6:26-27)

We human folk are imperfect, and we're supposed to be more and more like God but often all of us can fall into self-seeking ways. God isn't like that though. It can be tough to see beyond those imperfections in people to the perfection of God, but if you seek God truly and sincerely you'll find that in Him there isn't hypocrisy. He always always exposes it.

Sotired - I understand in part only, I am ex military, I have suffered from Depression myself. Do you know Jesus Christ as savior is my first question. Nothing will happen apart from Salvation found in Him.

Are you saved? Are you born by the Spirit? - of so, walk in Him - that's life now, moment by moment

God can do a lot in a man whose heart is His, and is who is willing to be led by the Spirit

The future, your future can be as bright as the Grace of God found in the Face of Jesus Christ

several things are needed in our diet that have been processed out.
this was known and published in 1920.(you can find a lot more recent information - volumes and volumes of known helps for depression, even manic and bipolar; not patentable, so not permitted by phrmk)

Wow ummmmmmmmmmm , There is only one thing I enjoy and only when I can see them is my grand children, The time I spend with them puts a smile on my face. then when they go home I am dead inside. There is nothing else to enjoy.
look up in scripture joy, every instance "joy" is in the NT especially.

also "union with" as in union with messiah , union with God, union with other (TRUE) believers.

as in the above post, be sure you are saved - cry out to God totally, not just for eternal salvation, though especially for eternity with HIM, but also find out the more full meaning of yahshua's (Jesus') salvation (healing, peace, joy, righteousness, wisdom, knowledge, freedom from sin and all the consequences of sin, and so on).....

finally, all in all, "if the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you..... " (NT)

ask God for HIS WAY. stay where you are, and let HIM change you from the inside out, including
new birth(born again).... HIS RESULTS are PROMISED in HIS WORD. (not in chruches)

I feel sorry that only one thing brings real joy to your life...and it's only your grandchildren, period. WHo limited this? WHO told you that ? JESUS is enough....JESUS is our joy that goes beyond our understanding. HE's the reason we breath and live...yet..you feel dead inside? Humm...JESUS came to give us LIFE and more abundantly....is He not there for you now, has HE vacated His spot? NO way.....when you feel 'dead' inside...means that the Holy Spirit is not there....for HE would not have His own to suffer like you do...so what are you gonna do about it? It's all based on attitude. Start helping others, focus away from SELF and move on with life doing good and witnessing for CHRIST..then the deadness will not have a chance to continue to rot you away.

Was saved was born again once and was somewhat bedazzled by it all, try to live the life of Christ, do all that he asked of me, and was faced with endless battles from all directions, the Paster, the flock, Parents , outsiders, within myself. had so many questions but most went un answered. most of all the Paster, a nice man in essence, but misguided by his perception of todays society and how it should be and what we should do as elders of the church to help bring about change.

Leading by example a key word in all of it, his belief in what the bible said was Black and white no room to for discussion nor room for debate. it was his way or the highway.

It was hard to gauge if you were doing it right or wrong, the church The poorer area of Adelaide with great un employment and many folk on a benefit of some sort. families had an average of 4 kids, most of whom lived below the poverty line. At first I saw it as a challenge a way to help improve there lives in some way. setting up my youth group with programs that first and foremost led them to Christ. but not so much as to turn them away. I had many a conflict with the paster over how I was doing things and was made to change to suit him.
I was pushing a full barrow up a never ending hill. , all this from a paster who on most sundays asked at the end of the sermon IF ANYONE WNAT TO OPEN THER HEART TO JESUS MEET WITH ME AFTER THE END OF THE MEETING , he would then meet with them say a prayer or two and the following sunday Baptise them.

I did not think this was a good thing to first accept Christ as ur savior one week and then be baptized the next , with out any sort of real instruction or guidance to then as to what they are commiting too . I say this because I have witnessed str8 after a baptism those that gave there life to Christ went str8 out the front of the church kit up a smoke and carried on as tho nothing had changed , they were swearing cursing smoking and saying how much the would kill for a beer or a joint. and what was worse they were all teenage children/
