Hello and welcome. This forum is only for introducing yourself. :) Your post would be more appropriate for the bible forum. I'm sorry to hear about your child.. :(

I am so sorry this has happened. I'm sorry I don't have a simple answer. I'm not God, I can't hope to tell you. But I can say that even now God is in control. He never said awful things wouldn't happen, or that if they happened they would be all because we did things wrong. But He did promise to stand with us in the storm. To hold those who are weeping, to be in control of what happens after. I'm praying for this situation though.

Ooooooh, gotcha. Thank you for clearing that up, Dabro. My bad. Still true though. As for that, that's another question I don't have a good answer to, but I'm sure plenty here would be willing to offer insight to it.

lol

Now that is funny.

He is talking about in the bible when Elisha cursed the children
and a bear came out and killed them.

Do you know that for sure? Bear attacks DO happen to people sometimes, ya know.. :/ Maybe one attacked his child and killed it..

Good question. It's a confusing and disturbing story, one that seems to have rather drastic consequences for an offense that appears to us, to be relatively minor. Elisha was a prophet with the mantle of Elijah from Holy Spirit. He had to minister to ungodly people of ungodly nations and he had a lot of opposition. These weren't your ordinary children. They were probably teenagers and there were many of them (I mean 40+ are mentioned as being mauled by the two bears). They were taunting the holy man of God and bullying him - basically spitting in God's face. God showed that nation that they needed to take Elisha seriously, as he was God's messenger. If they didn't listen to Elisha and turn back to God and repent to Him, God's wrath would fall on them and there would be far worse a judgement in store for them than 40+ teenagers being attacked by bears. I hope this brief explanation helps.

These were angry youths, at least 40 of them, ganging up on one man. They could have killed Elisha. God demonstrated His great love for His prophet through this extreme scenario. God protected Elisha from harm.

Why yes I am sure. Here it is...
2 Kings 2:21

24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD.
And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

And this is exactly what he was talking about.

I will not correct you again.
Hey, it's okay. Ladybug was just asking a question to get it clarified.

That is good, why make the same mistake twice.
You provide high entertainment value. Unfortunately (for you) you will probably be banned soon. I said it twice. No mistake.

Actually, smarty butt, I WAS looking for clarification, since the OP did NOT exactly specify WHAT he was referring to. For all you know, he COULD have been speaking of a bear attack on his child or that of someone he knows.

I'm sorry, but how do you know she wasn't?
You really shouldn't be so rude and act like you have all the answers. She was asking. No big deal. She made a mistake and thought it was something else since the OP didn't make it clear on his post.
There really isn't a need to be that way about it.

Just from the tone of his posts so far, his cocky attitude will get him banned before too much longer..

why did i ever leave Ohio?
why did i wander to find what lies yonder
when life was so cozy at home?

Agreed, hopefully he will tone it down some.
There really wasn't a need for that.

I thought the same thing when I read it. Lol
I have never read that in the bible so I had no clue until I read the comments. It's an honest mistake.
