I hope I will not be banned from the start if I say I am a heathen and an atheist. Heathen because I am a nature worshiper. Atheist because I do not believe in the existence of a god or gods or any other supernatural beings. I used to be Christian (repented and got baptized when I was 17), but some time ago I have completely abandoned the faith. To be honest, I have deeper, more lasting peace and joy now than I used to have as a Christian.

Why I am here? Not to troll or win arguments, for sure. To talk about spiritual things once in a while, I guess. Who knows, maybe the Christian God will call me back one day...

Hello DasLicht. You are some more minutes more new here than me. I do not agree with your definition of the faith. I myself is saved and all my sins from past, present and future are forgiven forever only because Christ Jesus gave himself for me on the cross and was risen the third day for almost 2000 years ago and because I believed this once in my life. This is how the gospel revealed to apostle Paul in the bible has it. Apostle Paul mentioned to Timothy that God's will is that every human will be saved, but that human has to believe once first, and since it is once a choice first many will instead stay lost. In Galatians the galatians generally were fallen from grace, but still saved, still having the justification, but they still should stand up from the fall and be back in that walking grace.

You see, I do not believe in sin anymore either. I do not believe human beings are so fundamentally bad and corrupted that they need a God to die in their place to save them from himself. What Christians call sin is in most cases simply our humanness.

Hi and welcome DasLicht. From your first post you say you are a nature worshiper? The very definition of worship is to show reverence to a deity. Therefore in a sense you do worship a God and that being nature. So do you consider yourself a pagan or more directly related to Wiccan or Druid? Just curious. Again welcome to the forum.

100 by lion!!! Maybe that dentist saved somebody!

No, he sought out an animal and killed it

The landlocked, southern African nation is one of the hardest-hit places on the continent when it comes to the killing of big game, both legal and illegal. It is a country where, Slate reports, “hunters exported 49 lion trophies in 2013 alone”

A 2013 study in the journal Public Library of Science estimates that 96 lions were hunted per year between 1996 and 2006 in the country and 43 per year more recently. Lion trophy hunts were banned there in 2005 but allowed again after 2008.The problem does not stop with lions. Poachers killed between 15 and 20 rhinos in the country in 2014, 60 rhinos in 2013 and 84 (the peak) in 2008. The World Wildlife Fund estimates that 60% of the rhino population in Zimbabwe and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) was killed between 2003 and 2005

This Is How Many Animals Were Killed in Zimbabwe in the Last 20 Years

To the OP, hello and welcome.. Please feel free to post your OP in the Family or Ladies forum. The new members forum is only for introducing yourself, NOT debating the pros and cons of being a heathen. That's what the bible forum is for. :)

How convenient! No more 'sin"..NO more guilt to worry about. Humanness is the ultimate culprit. People are just human, after all, right? THere is not a single 'religion" or faith in the world today that that does NOT say humanity is made up of 3 characteristics: Body, Mind, and Spirit. All 3 need to be in sync and harmony in order to have a natural balance. You seem to 'have it all together" in your mind, but what of the body and spirit? If your spirituality is not 'working well', it makes the body and mind off kilter. If your body is not functioning properly, it effects the other two. If your mind is twisted, of course it corrupts your body and spirit. Only for a short while you may feel great and think you have it all figured out...but soon enough, as the BIBLE says "Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that JESUS CHRIST is LORD"..and that includes you and I and all those who profess JESUS or do NOT profess JESUS. GOD never forces His self upon anyone. He simply wants His creation to come to HIM as a child, with childlike faith, no preconceptions and allow HIS holy spirit to be within us. This euphoria you are presently in is short lived. The sad thing is, you never had a real 'heart" connection with GOD, you simply had a 'religious" experience, a 'head" experience, if you will. If you truely were a Christ follower and not a 'church' follower, you would have grown spiritually to the point where by now there would be no way you would deny CHRIST. You chose the path of least resistence. It is so much easier to follow the world's ways. This gives you NO bragging rights. It simply means it's a matter of time before you will have to face GOD and try to explain why you posted such sorrowful conclusions. Do not expect a parade in your honor here...but, I and many others will pray that you will soon enough see the LIGHT!

I am not acting like a mod. Just telling her the proper place(s) to put her posts. As I said, the new members forum is only for introducing yourself. Any of the mods would tell her the same thing.. :)

Actually, though I still do struggle with sin, I have LONG AGO stopped beating myself up with "guilt." This is one of Satan's tools, as far as I am concerned. Guilt and shame have no place in the life of a Christian.

I have been reading the Eddas and exploring the Norse/Germanic paganism, the faith of the Germans' most distant ancestors. There is beauty and inspiration there, but it's kind of hard to take the story of how the gods created heaven and earth out of the body of a giant Ymir with any degree of literalism :) Basically I stick to the idea that the natural world is the only reality out there, and all religious texts, the Bible, the Edda etc. are human attempts to explain the world before science and a reflection of the worldview, culture and values of the people who compiled them.

She did introduce herself. It was regular members who began debating, not her. I think her post is appropriately placed. Does not mean that she could not also begin a thread in a new forum - simply stating that her intro is fine and does not need to be moved.
