Deployed soldier wanting to learn more

Hey everyone, my name is Justin. I'm leaving for my 2nd deployment with the Army. I want to meet people that encourage to keep my faith strong and also that I can learn from while I'm down range. I believe in God, but my knowledge of the Bible is very minimal. Lets motivate eachother to live better lives!!

Thank you for your service. If you are encouraged by challenges you will be very encouraged here especially in the bible forum. There is lots of barking but they cannot bite on the computer. Well I guess they can bite their computer but not yours.

Justin, GOd bless you for doing this..and GOD give you an extra boost as you go through the training and service that is needed in your case. Us Americans are so proud of young men like you who are in the trenches daily, giving the rest of us the freedoms we enjoy. Christians are always in some sort of battle, but our Commander and Chief connects you and all others in CHRIST, for HE is our Comforter, our Savior and so much more. It is your faith expressed here that will bring you to a victory in many ways...spiritually and physically.

Hi Justin, welcome to CC. I also wish to thank you for serving and for your desire to live a Christian life. Being as you are new to the Bible, I would recommend that you find and online concordance like biblegateway.com or bible.net.net to find what you may be interested in. Others may have different opinions, but I think Matthew may be the best book about Christ. Job will give you some insight into how God and Satan deal with the world, and Psalms gives a lot of descriptions about God. Proverbs gives us a lot of good common sense rules to live by and Isaiah and Ezekiel have a lot of prophecy. I am sure you will enjoy your Christian adventure and if you look to God continually, you may even enjoy much of your deployment. May God watch over you!

It is nice to know that there are still Christians in the ranks of the military despite Satan's deception of the world by confusing them on issues that God clears says no when he talks about them. I would recommend Bible Gateway for resources such as audio Bibles and other stuff, this site can also help at times, downloading the Bible Gateway app on your smartphone will help. A personal recommendation is a Christian organization called Living Waters, a ministry that follows Christ and loves everyone even those who hate them (they sadly also are misunderstood by some in the Christian community). They have a Youtube channel as well with good long videos about abortion and homosexuality. God bless you, on your journey and walk with Christ.
