Hello Daffodil, Welcome. God has summoned each Christian to be a witness of what he or she has "seen and heard." 1 John 1:3. Witnessing is a a part of a lifestyle; people observe the way we live our lives. Actions often speak louder than words. Yet, our actions are not sufficient for communicating to another person the message of the gospel of Christ.We also need to witness by our words.

There are many methods of means to help us practically do this. One of the most comprehensive ones I could share now is the bridge illustration. I could share more if you would like sometime as well. The Bridge Illustration has been used successfully to communicate the gospel over many years and in many contexts, both in group form and in person to person format.I have found it to be a useful and powerful tool for explaining the gospel.

Many variations of the Bridge Illustration are in use. It is relatively simple and straight forward. The Navigators have the one I like the best. You can get it yourself thru NAVPRESS.com thru a discipleship training book called "Bearing fruit in God's Family" Book 3 of the 2:7 series. After using it a couple of times you will probably be like me and customize it somewhat to fit your style of delivery etc, within the parameters of the Scriptures included. It talks about:

* Gods purpose: Abundant life...............................................{ John 10:10}.
Eternal life ................................................. { John 3:16}.
* Our Problem: All have sinned ........................................... { Romans 3:23; Isaiah 53:6}.
Sins Penalty................................................ { Romans 6:23; Hebrews 9:27}.
* Gods Remedy: Christ Paid the Penalty................................. { Romans 5:8; 1 Peter 3:18}.
Salvation Not By Works................................ { Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5}.
* Our Response: Must Receive Christ..................................... { John 1:12; Romans 10:9-10}.
Assurance of Salvation................................. { John 5:24; 1 John 5:13}.

One of the most effective ways to present the gospel using the Bridge Illustration is to ask questions about Scripture that will enable a person to see each truth directly from the bible. You will need to convey four concepts as you draw out the Bridge. I hope this will help to some degree, there are many means to help you in this witnessing quest, feel free to hit me up for more examples as well. Nice to meet you, and Welcome once more. My name is Dan by the way.

Thanks Dan. I will definitely check that out. I know of the Navigators from the True Faced message. I love it and am currently going through the book The Cure by the True Faced ministries. Thanks again.
