Remember...... It doesn't matter how many times you get knocked down. It only matters that you get up one more time than you've been knocked down.

Honestly, people put to much weight on this Diploma paper. its worthless.. it really is. maybe a few decades ago it was actually worth something but in today's world where people get a high school diploma when they can not read nor write says it all.

Problem with jobs today is pretty much everything is the "apply online" garbage. and while I can not prove it, I am sure most applications filled out get sent to /dev/null. In most places in this nation we have more people then jobs and the people to jobs ratio is growing wider and wider each year. And the only real way in to most places is having a inside contact that gets you though the door (application/education/ect/ect meaningless) A place I been trying to get into is like that, only way into the job is someone on the inside and a job spot available.

I don't know where you live, but understand the real unemployment rate in the USA is more like 16+% some areas like where I live its actually 30+%

Yes... You're right. I'm pretty sure even if I had graduated, I would still be in the same place I am now... Just like my sisters that did graduate. And I live in Texas btw.

I will give you a tip on your job search. Put yourself out there, get to know the hiring managers. I had 2 jobs try to hire me the same day for my very first job, because I shopped at these stores and got to know the ones in charge. Just casual small talk and being pleasant with employees when going into a store can be a huge advantage. I had already accepted the first job offer, but the second job was a manager position of a local store. The one in charge of this branch had gotten to know me as I was growing up and would go into the store regularly and saw I got along well with the employees. The ones doing the hiring notice even the things we think are tiny. They chose someone with no experience, just fresh out of high school over people with better resumes, all because they knew me. Get your foot in the door and it will be much easier.

This nation has lacked real job creation for a couple decades. pretty much when you were born was the start of the giant sucking sound pulling jobs out of the USA to other nations thus costing us as Americans jobs. Its now to the point for everyone say 16-65 that wanted to work to have a job, millions and millions of jobs would have to be created at the snap of the finger and that is not going to happen. teens in the 14-18 range can't find burger flipper jobs due to all the adults that have sucked them up cause nothing else is left. lots of people 18-40 can't find work cause well none exist. and those 40+ that want work have a hard time finding anything because when a job spot does open up they don't want some old person.

This trend will continue, and in the end the house of cards will come crashing down, it can not continue as it is going on now failure of the system will happen.

Did you know that at some libraries you can take a free (or very inexpensive) aptitude test to see what your particular abilities and desires might be......... in order to at least head in a direction that would be suited for you.

Often it is a waste of time to try and develop your weaknesses. The smarter person goes with the solid strengths they already have, and if they choose to, they can strengthen their weaker points as they go along.

I didn't know there was a such thing but I'm glad that you've told me. I have a library 2 minutes away from my home. I could stop there soon and take the test.

Brittany,
If you have no luck at your local libraries, try a local Junior or Community College.

My youngest son got his GED, and he was told by the state that he had learning disabilities, especially with math. He than joined the Army, and passed their test. Even though they let him go for medical reasons..he found that he was smart enough!

We ALL have "Learning Disabilities" in one area or another. If this were not so, we would ALL be able to learn, and do, ANYTHING and EVERYTHING well.

I'm in desperate need of a job. I didn't graduate high school, I never had a job, I don't own a vehicle nor do I know how to drive..... Everything's just a mess right now with me. I know much of nothing. The only thing I have experience in is babysitting, hair styling, and somewhat of baking. Those are only what I'm interested in but I can't seem to get hired because people ask for too much. We all just need to help out others sometimes. I really need a job and it seems like I'm never gonna get one... Something that I enjoy. I tried finding online jobs but.... Nothing. I want to be able to buy my family here a microwave, washer and dryer machine, silverware, and dishes. I can't even do that. I feel like I'm nothing.... I'm useless. Why can't people just trust in me because I'm a great person always have been and always will. I want to be able to provide for myself and one gaol of mine is to help many families with clothes, food, shoes, toys, shelter, beds... ect. And to get as many kids as I can and teach them praise dance and about Jesus. Those are my dreams but I'm starting to think it'll never happen :( I don't know what to do. I need help.
Ok,lets start over. Refuse those negative vibes. Say "I strip off those rags of failure and hopelessness, and cloth myself with a winner,THE LORD JESUS CHRIST"

Eph says "put on the full armor of God...."

Cloth yourself. Dress for winning, then go out and decapitate your obstacles.

Now. You will get a job. That is a fact.

1)there is a way to practically make them hire you.

2) In any interview they are trained to hear your mind,habits,attitudes,values,etc...so don't go and present yourself with wish washy maybies. Job-"do you have a car" answ-"no but ,I have calculated the rout from here to my house, and I know for a fact I have no transportation problem at all"
3) In my experience,my pink and white striped shirt brings me favor with man/pple. Try it. You will be amazed.
4) Do your own experiment. Try this or that. Make it a project, and please, please listen to motivational speakers( les brown, zig ziglar, mike murdock),or choose your own.

Look, you are a winner, and you will win. Preach to yourself ,arm yourself, cast off neg mess, drop back, get a battleplan.
Learn from every interview. Ace this dimension.
Still no Job?

See what is closest to your house, and start from there. Fill out an application EVEN IF THEY TELL YOU THEY ARE NOT HIRING. Then go by every single day and say "just checking,I know,I know, you said don't come back ,we WILL CONTACT YOU". Then back off to every 3 or 4 days.

LOL ,I literally witnessed this working. He would tell them "Well, people get fired, they quit, they retire,I want to be sure to be the first to fill a vacancy".

They did hire him after he pestered them for about a week or so.

Get your speech down and deliver it with confidence. practice it over and over.

"I can tell you why I would make an excellent employee"

"I am come to work early and leave late,my employer will get 30 or 45 minutes bonus production out of me every day. I get along with everyone,no matter what dept you place me,I will not only get along with others,I will master that task and learn to produce effectively.I am not a whiner,or a complainer,I know how to deflect things, and major on majors, not major on minors.I understand production, and I research the companies I work for to understand the core of every business I work for.

......and so on. That is just a guide to show you how to talk. (That is from Mikes book "the assignment" free on you tube)

Btw. research their co. and tell them things they themselves don't even know about their own company...." I noticed this co started in 1975,by Ken Jones. Is he still around"....or something to that effect.
make sure you call your interviewer by name .Learn to incorporate it. "Well steve the reason I chose this company...."
That could make major,major points.

Anyway....go get um kid.

The world does not stand over you like a giant.
YOU ,IN FACT, HAVE THE WORLD BY THE TAIL.
Let that fill your sails and propel you forward.
You will get your family all those things, look back, and think "wow that was an easy goal,I can get them way more than that"
