Yes but God is one ! Jesus is the Father the Father is Jesus can't you see that?
Hi Missy,

I think I understand what you are trying to say, however, the statement above is not quite correct.

Jesus said in John 17... (in particular v.21)

The High Priestly Prayer

1When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said,“Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, 2 since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him.3 And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.4 I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do.5 And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.

6 “I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word.7 Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you.8 For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me.9 I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.10 All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them.11 And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one.12 While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.13 But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.19 And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.

20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word,21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one,23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.25 O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me.26 I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

Note, Jesus said, "... you, Father, are in me, and I in you..."

The little words 'in' are very important in this context. God the Father, Jesus the Son & the Holy Spirit are all in the Godhead (part of the Trinity) but Jesus is not the Father. Nor did He ever claim to be the Father or a father.

When His disciples asked Him: "Teach us how to pray..", He told them to address the Father, in heaven (not himself). See Luke Chapter 11.

I know its only a small detail but small details can be VERY important. Why insist on calling Jesus father when He never suggested we do that?

I am not attacking you personally. I am a father and a grandfather (and have a daughter your age). I just want to help you understand what the Bible actually says.

Blessings.

As an unbeliever, your spirit is dead, needing to be awakened to new life by the Spirit of God who calls to you. You have a choice to deny Him and live or to receive Him and continue walking in spiritual darkness.

Everyone needs to be born again in Christ to know and experience real life.

.
No quite the contrary, how you can speak on a life you know nothing about kinda astounds me. I love every single aspect of my life and experience "real" life every day.

I speak the simple truth of God that you are spinning your wheels to deny. Real life is a life lived God's way. He is our Creator, and He knows what's best for us. Those in rebellion to His truth and His life-giving promises like sin and like to do their own will, but they will pay dearly the consequences of sin. Jesus has already suffered your consequence...you need to receive it.

I enjoy sharing viewpoints and opinions. I offer an outside persepective and knowledge on certain things :)
We don't need "outside" viewpoints and perspectives. Many of the members here are confused enough, and many of them have lived their lives outside of knowing Jesus and are fully aware of the world's perspective. We are in the world but no longer of the world.

Well I think your definition of real life is nonsense. I live a very real and very happy life with my family. I think your avatar is very fitting to a personality like yours except unlike you I dont waste time passing judgement on others and condemning them before I even know who they are. You say rebellion, I say free thinking. Your definition of truth is much different compared to mine and as far as reception I will decide what I need to do because I am a free thinking adult and I dont really need you to tell me what it is I need to do but thank you for the concern.

There you go again telling people what they need. If someone doesnt wish to speak to me, they are under NO obligation to do so. However, if they wish to engage in intelligent conversation or debate I am glad to do so without telling them what they "need"

Well I will say this, I dont have a "dead spirit", I love and enjoy my life every single day, I`m honest, transparent, and I treat people with kindness and respect, Ill even listen to your opinions on eternity and all of this without believing a God exists. Now I dont think its impossible but due to scientific evidence regarding areas such as the origins of the universe and evolution show us that it may also be otherwise. I myself was only born once and I`m proud to say I have departed from all religions, churches, ministries, missions, and traditions.
All theory, my friend.

And is an alternate viewpoint really such a bad thing? Are you afraid something might make sense to someone? I have not tried to change anybodies mind about anything, I have not condemned them or put them down for what they believe. I have had VERY polite conversation with everybody here and have received quite a warm welcome. Its nice to see not everybody are simple-minded and judgmental as others.

Of course everyone who makes a career of unbelief thinks that the truth about God is nonsense. Guess what? God tells us that! They also make a career out of the big "I" ---self-determination. The foolish thing about that is that you think you have control, and you think you are free-thinking, but you are not. Most of the time you parrot what the world says you should think, but driving all that is Satan himself. One day you will come face to face with yourself and realize that you are caught in a trap, in a hamster wheel. There's nothing new under the sun.

You may think you are happy now, but the time will come when life will knock you around and pull the rug out from under you and you will have nothing but bitterness and grief. But the Lord Jesus Christ who lives in us and through us delivers to us real peace, and real joy that is beyond comprehension, despite our circumstances.

Give the world a few turns. You'll see that this life has nothing to offer you of lasting love, joy or peace. God loves you. He will make Himself known to you, and then you will have a decision to make. I pray you make the best one, the right one---Jesus.

Its not all theory, there is evidence to backup quite a bit of scientific discovery, a good portion of it is irrefutable.
I apologize for not being specific enough in my first post. There's no scientific proof regarding the origins of life that refute Jesus Christ's divinity. If there was such proof, the raging Left in this country that hates Christianity would make damn sure we all knew about it.

Well I am VERY happy and my career is science not unbelief, I am so thankful for the positive words of encouragement but I feel compelled to tell you life has knocked me around and I have had the rug pulled out from under me in my life. Its life that happens to regular people. I am not a bitter person nor do I see that ever becoming a part of my personality traits. I will continue to give the world a turn because it doesnt stop for anybody, it keeps rotating at 3,000 mph due east while orbiting the sun at 18 kps and will for around 5 billion more years. Ive made bad decisions in my life and I`ve also made some great ones. I have my children and my career, yes life is good

As God is the Scientist to beat all scientists, then your career is unbelief. People can live a decently good life without Jesus, but life is only VERY good with Jesus in it, and after life is done, eternity is stupendous! We only live this life for a millisecond compared to the eternity we will spend where we choose. I choose to spend it in the Kingdom of God.

Regarding divinity there is as much evidence for it as against it. There is astounding evidence regarding how the particles which form the atoms of our bodies as well as every other living thing on this planet. As far as the left wing media...theyre just as twisted as the right, i look at it as one bird. I dont hate christianity by any means, I hate that people would choose to quit learning and simply disregard science because it challenges their beliefs but you and everybody else uses the applications of scientific discovery every single day without even realizing it.

Don't close your heart to the saving grace of Jesus. That's one mistake you won't overcome. In the meantime, we'll keep you lifted, asking for blessings to be upon you and yours.

Well thats ok. I can debate you on the scientist to beat all scientists part but that is your opinion. Allow me to repeat I live a VERY good life and I enjoy it to the fullest. I will actually agree with you on your point that life is short but not as short as some.

I only want to know the Truth . . . and I already do. And because I know the Truth, I am not afraid to listen to differing thoughts. With that, please share what you believe to be the proof that discounts Jesus' Divinity.
