Hello I am happy to join this forum. I was wondering, I work as a security officer and my rota will go on for sometimes 7 days and sometimes I'll work 8. I read that one of the commandments is that you rest on the seventh day but I can not do this. How do I go about this and prevent myself sinning??

Thank you

Sin is a condition of the heart and motives and intent. Not circumstances.

Hello Sure, it is up to you either to follow the bible or to work on the 7th day.

Welcome to Christian Chat, Sure. I'm not sure exactly what to say about your situation. Sometimes they force the people where I work to work thirteen straight days, unless they have a letter from a pastor to allow them to take their Sabbath off. I think that is a very bad thing for my employer to do, forcing people to work thirteen straight days. If you on average are getting a day for every six days worked, then perhaps you are okay.
