Hello,
Brand new to online chatting. Loneliness drove me to it. I love the Lord. My husband of 18 years suddenly abandoned me one year ago to be with his high school girlfriend. He hasn't turned back. I have two teenage kids. Sad times. No idea what the future holds, but I am thankful I can lead hard on God. I am overwhelmed by all the heartache and suffering all over. I never thought like that before I became severely broken. I am usually an optimistic and jovial person. But on the bad days... If it weren't for God and my kids, I just don't know. I'm not usually this depressing. I have had a year to begin healing, after all. I joined on a down day. Sorry to meet you like this. God is good and great.

Hi ZiggyB, i know this is a very difficult phase you are going through... but this topic is delicate, in family forum, you'll get many support there as well as we usually welcome the new members here. It is good that you've made God your rock.

Welcome to CC. Your OP is more appropriate for the Family forum, because new members is specifically for introducing yourself. I can ask a mod to move this thread there if you'd like. :)

Hi Ziggy,

I'm sorry about what happened to you! How terrible. I have been married for 17 years... and I am aware around this age is when we ALL start going a little stir crazy in our marriages. Is your husband a believer? I tell you from much shame and experience that this world will drag you apart like nothing else...not an excuse by any means for your husband...I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone! Are you active in your church? Small group?

It's a shame what your husband did to you and this is something that one day he will truly regret. Your post was not depressing at all, after all, what you have gone through is horrible. God is indeed good and great. Welcome to CC.

Welcome to Christian Chat, Ziggy. Sorry to hear things haven’t gone the way you wanted them to. Perhaps you can just put the past behind you and follow the Lord wherever he goes.

Thank you for your reply. Well, he was a newer believer than me (by about 7 years) and about a year before he left, he just stopped going to church, so i knew that was a big issue in itself but I couldn't get it out of him what the deal was, and I guess I was oblivious that next thing I knew, he'd be gone. Thank God for my church family. They've really been there for me. Yes, I'm active in church and a small group. But my church is mostly all married couples, young and old. Hardly any singles at all, men or women, so it can still get lonely and makes me wonder where all the people like me are, because I know they're out there. Anyway, thanks again!

Thank you so much. That validation is always comforting. Yeah, I get a little obsessed sometimes about wanting to witness his regret or when things go bad in his life, but I know that's not healthy or realistic. Nice to meet you!

Thank you so much. That is the goal!
