A Christian knows Jesus is his or her Lord and God. A Christian does not sin. A Christian keep all of God’s Commandments.

God’s Commandments are all the Words of the New Testament.

A Christian lives as Jesus lived.

(1 John 2:6) “But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did”

I know from God that the Christian Bible is the written Word of God.

Welcome, John. I pray your time here is uplifting and joy-filled.
One way to have that is by knowing that christians are not righteous by their own endeavors, but are declared righteous IN CHRIST. We're not perfect, we're forgiven.
God bless you. :)

That is your opinion, but that is not what the written Word of God says.

Jesus called us to be perfect, and he made it possible for those he called. Those he called become Children of God, and a Child of God does not sin. That is scripture.
Also Paul told us how God made it possible for a Christian to be perfect.

(1 John 3:9-10) “No one who has been begotten by God sins; because God’s seed remains inside him, he cannot sin when he has been begotten by God. In this way we distinguish the children of God from the children of the devil: anybody not living a holy life and not loving his brother is no child of God’s.”
(Romans 8:1-4) “The reason, therefore, why those who are in Christ Jesus are not condemned, is that the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. God has done what the Law, because of our unspiritual nature, was unable to do. God dealt with sin by sending his own Son in a body as physical as any sinful body, and in that body God condemned sin he did this in order the Law’s just demands might be satisfied in us, who behave not as our unspiritual nature but as the spirit dictates.”

Yes but Jesus told us that we would be judged on the last day by all the Words that he spoke. Jesus did not say on the Words the Old Testament Prophets spoke.
(John 12:47-48) “If anyone hears my words and does not keep them faithfully, it is not I who shall condemn him, since I have come not to condemn the world, but to save the world: he who rejects me and refuses my words has his judge already; the word itself that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day.”

John, you should know better.

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Hi brother. I think John's confused or a troll. Or a confused troll. The sinless perfection angle isn't the least bit biblical. We have to be careful, because that places more emphasis on us than Jesus and His sacrifice.

Yes people quote that part of John’s letter, and how they can do so without feeling totally ashamed, I sure don’t understand.
Do they believe John was telling those Children of God who can’t sin, that they need not tell anyone?
Do you believe that John was saying they were liars if they shared they no longer sinned?
(1 John 3:9-10) “No one who has been begotten by God sins; because God’s seed remains inside him, he cannot sin when he has been begotten by God. In this way we distinguish the children of God from the children of the devil: anybody not living a holy life and not loving his brother is no child of God’s”

I don’t believe people, when they quote (1 John 1:8-10), and they expect an intelligent person to use that to convince people that it is a sin to share that God keeps him or her free from sin.

When people use a verse such as 1 John 1:8-10 trying to say it is a lie to say one no longer sins, it is such a misunderstanding of what John said. If it was true what those people wanted to believe, then they are making scripture contradicting its self. I know scripture does not contradict its self.

(1 John 1: 8-10)[SUP] “[/SUP]If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.”

You need to see John was saying if one says he or she says they have never sinned they are liars.

If one is forgiven of all unrighteousness are they not then sinless?

Could they then be liars if they say they are sinless?

Yes, tintin, option 3 from your list seems about right. ;)

Well, John. Since you just sinned in your attitude towards me, that would make you a sinner. Sorry, mate. That sinless perfection thing is a complete farce (until we've been fully regenerated and given a glorified new body).

On am not on the Christian Forums to make friends. The Word that Jesus has me give does not bring peace. But you should take notice that all my post will be scripture, and scripture that does not need to be explained to people.
(Matthew 10:34-35) “'Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth: it is not peace I have come to bring, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, a man's enemies will be those of his own household. A daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

Well, IF John is indeed 81, and claims to have been saved since birth, the idea that he is somehow going to change from a works based salvation, to a Jesus centered Grace alone salvation, seem pretty slim to me. And since there is not even a hint of love from him, onto the ignore he goes. God bless my brothers and sisters in Christ who have the patience to deal with him!

Yes those who did not want to hear the truth from Jesus called him a sinner also.

You're just delightful. A real peach!
The world needs more like you. And especially here on cchat.
Everything goes too smoothly around here, it's as boring as The Stepford Wives. ;)

What's ironic is you chose to use the name of the Apostle of Love...JOHN...and even use the word 'love' in your user-name.
A finer example we've yet to see so soon out of the gate.

Since you're not on the 'christian forums' to make friends, and you said ALL your posts are scripture, (does that include the parts that AREN'T scripture, or was that a lie,... oops, there's that sin-thing again), so what, pray telll, DID you come here for?

Saved does not mean one will go the heaven, and you have no scripture that tells you it does.
Jesus told us who will come to heave with him.
(Matthew 7:21) “It is not those who say to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, who will enter the kingdom of Heaven but the person who does the will of My Father in Heaven. When the day comes many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, cast out demons in your name, work many miracles in your name?’ Then I shall tell them to their faces: I have never known you; away from me, you evil men!”

Yes love is a gift from God. To truly love one first has to love God. To love God one has to keep his Commandments. Then one receive love. Doing God’s Will is love.
(1 John 2:6) “But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did”

(John 14: 23) “Anyone who loves me will keep my word and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him and make a home in him.”

(John 14:21) “Anybody who receives my commandments and keeps them will be one who loves me; and anybody who loves me will be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and show myself to him.”
