Just arrived here, and am looking to see what's worth discussing, as I know there is plenty. Lord willing, there should be. Fundamentalist, KJV only, premillenial, fan of late Carl Mcintire, but a good listener despite all that. Canadian as can be. Anti-rock n' roll, anti-booze, anti-CCM (music, not the bicycle). Hymns rule. Married, 1 daughter. God bless.

(Oops, I called you 'sir'! Sorry. The site info said that males are "shown in blue ink", as indeed the bullet by your message IS blue. But a quick glance at your profile shows otherwise (?!). Oh well...)

I think the Lord wants us to continue to compose new songs for him (I write a few myself), though I do not enjoy contemporary services:

Sing to him a new song,
play skilfully on the strings, with loud shouts. Psalm 33:3 RSV

He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the LORD. Psalm 40:3 RSV

O sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth! Psalm 96:1 RSV

[9] I will sing a new song to thee, O God;
upon a ten-stringed harp I will play to thee,
[10] who givest victory to kings,
who rescuest David thy servant. Psalm 144:9-10 RSV

Sing to the LORD a new song,
his praise from the end of the earth!
Let the sea roar and all that fills it,
the coastlands and their inhabitants. Isa 42:10 RSV

Hey Matt, Welcome! You can either use the search at the top, and view the multitude of threads on the subject. One is usually started about every other day. Or you can just start your own thread.

I pray the Lord breaks you free from this horrible sin.

I would never argue against new hymns and praise music, ever. I just believe Rock n' Roll to be harmful, and contrary to God's plan. I was a "rock fan" for 25 years, and nothing good came of it.
