As a husband myself I think I can say we are all that way. Husbands I mean. What you seek in your marriage is found in you and your husband living for Jesus Christ.

My witness and testimony for my marriage which is 42 years young is that only Jesus could have brought us this far. My wife is just as stubborn and hardheaded as I am. Jesus is compassionate toward hardheaded folks. The mercy of God is where the patience and love comes that keeps a marriage working. And yes marriage is work because two people who often do not see things in the same fashion are together in all kinds of situations.

Look to Jesus. Give thanks for your spouse even when you don't want to and watch God bless.

Roger... we are the same way as ya'll are.. I will admit that I am just as stubborn as he is. I will continue to look to God for what we need to make it work. Our problem comes when he believes that a marriage shouldn't require work.. it should "Just Be Easy". I've tried to explain to him that its not. I pray that one day he will come around. Thank you for encouragement!

Early in our marriage I told my wife that she did not really know what it was to love someone. You only learn to love someone when you endure the trials and tribulations that are found along the way in life. It is the tough times that teach one to love their spouse.

I completely agree.. Through every trial, I find more of myself and learn to love my husband more and for the better. He doesn't seem to see it the same way though. And I honestly don't know how to get him to see it. He told me earlier today that if the arguing (once every month or two) continued, it wasn't worth it. I know he loves me as he does talk to me, where as he would just up and leave if his ex wife said anything. He believes marriage should be easy and everything should be great all the time. Yet he tells me with everything else in our life "Nothing worth having ever comes easy". But he just won't have the same attitude towards marriage.

Hi Christi, welcome to CC. I'm not married so obviously don't expect marital advice from me, but expect me and other people to be good friends on here.
