Hi, I'm new to this. I have tried countless of times to find a mentor to guide me towards Christ at my church but no one is ever available. I guess I either have bad luck or we live during times were people are too busy. So, I feel like this is my last resort because finding Christ alone and walking through this journey alone leaves my bones feeling dry. I want to believe in Jesus. But Im not even sure if I Believe. My life has been rough. And I see others having it so much easier and i wonder if God even loves me or if he is even real at this point. ...help, just help please. ...

Join the club dear.
My life has sucked and I'm 14. You can ask people here if you don't want to take my word. Job's life sucked, but did G-d ever leave him?
No, and G-d will never leave you. He is not an unjust G-d but what you have to realize is that your plan for your life is not the plan He has, and while things may seem like He doesn't know what He's doing, turn your face to Him, and watch, and I can guarantee that the ending will be well worth the trials.

We don't need earthly mentors, only our Father, but He knows we aren't meant to walk the Earth alone, even Jesus had disciples. I believe He will give you His children to walk through your journey with you, you just can't give up.

You speak with far greater wisdom than I ever did at 14, thank you Natania. It means a lot that you replied!

No one can make you believe something or do anything. Influence you maybe, but in the end you choose right or left.

Hi there! Welcome to CC, Lost and want to be found.

I'm sure many here will be able to help you along the way. Do you have questions you'd like to ask?

This is the forum here, but there are actual voices in chat. Here you have to type and wait for an answer. There you can ask and get an answer right away. I would suggest going to the bible study room if you want to try the chat rooms.

And yes, God loves you and He died for you and calls you to come to Him in repentance. You must be hearing His voice, maybe it's the time right now for you to answer Him. :)

It's not good to compare your life with others because not all of us will have the exact same life. I'd be pretty depressed too if I compared my life to others without the Lord in my life. Well actually now that I do have the Lord, I make it a point not to compare my life with others. We're all so unique and it's a gift and a blessing. We just need the eyes to see the blessing in our turmoil. Not for the difficulty, but for the beauty that comes out of the ashes.

He gave me beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness,
That we might be, trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord.
That He might be glorified.

Do you have family that are believers, friends?

You may want to find a new church if the one you're going to doesn't have time to discipleship you.

As you have already seen, it's not hard to post in any of the threads or you can begin a new thread to ask questions and find answers.

But again, please try out the chat rooms too, because like I said, they can talk to you right away and even pray with you. You can do both the forum and the chat rooms.

And again, welcome!!! We're pleased to have you here!

I'd recommend just going back and reading about when the Jews wandered through Egypt. Did they always believe? Even with influence and all of these incredible signs that God showed them. What did they do?
It isn't influence you need, although yes, it can certainly help, you just can't rely on yourself. Faith isn't taking baby steps it's walking through a split sea trusting the waters won't fall on you, jumping, and trusting that He will catch you

You're not alone in feeling the way you do, not by a sight.

Welcome to CC. May you find the reassurance and fellowship in Christ that you seek.

Thank you for letting me know this! And I love the poem so much, especially the oil of joy sentence. I will definitely go to that section. I want to know why God doesn't intervene with evil with some people and yet for others he does? Is be really a just God?

Hey dear,
Just a friendly tip, to make it easier for people to see who you are commenting to, there is a "reply with quote" button, do you know where that is? I'm just asking because I know you are relatively new

Faith has felt like baby steps to me, unfortunately....every time I take a step forward I find my self taking a step backwards. I'm ashamed that my faith is turmoiled and inconsistent, fleeting. Especially when the waters do come crashing down most of the time.

I don't know where it is. Is it the arrow, the quote, or the quote with the plus sign?

Which is why it's not working.
Faith is a leap. EVERYTHING has to be put second. It's hard. But a relationship with God that lasts can not be made with other things in front of you. Whether it be doubt, or material things, or people. You can NOT take babysteps when it comes to this. It may seem like a leap into the dark, but I can assure you, it pays off in the end

I deleted my comment by accident, sorry. I had said that taking a leap was scary and that i never thought about it that way. And actually, I don't even know what it looks like to take a leap of faith.

Yes, it is. And I'm going to be straight foward with you. Living the Christian life is not all cherry blossoms and rainbows. There are trials every step of the way, people that hate you, persecution down every corner, but the difference is,
You now have a G-d that carries you through all of that.

What does a leap look like?
Well,
What are you holding on to?
What makes you doubt? What are some material things you think you could never part with if any?
