I am so curious, as I have never had the nerve to ask another Christian face to face, but have you ever physically (seen, felt, touched, heard...the physical realm...not spiritual mumbo jumbo left up to interpretation) a sign from God? I have prayed countless days and nights for our Lord and Savior to show himself before me, but I have yet to receive a single sign. Am I asking too much?

Have any of you received a sign???

If so, please describe what it was like...

Yes there are many signs. God even send angels disguised as humans to save us from harm. But why look for signs when you can directly experience God through His word?

We are quite free to ask God anything we like to ask Him.. But we are wrong to expect that God will respond to our requests in the way we want, as if God is some genie in a bottle that is forced to grant us our 3 wishes when we pop the cork. So ask what ever you may want but have faith that if God says no or does not respond to your request then that's the best response to your request.

As for a sign... The main thing we should be seeking from God is truth and understanding.. The main thing God has given us is His Word and his message is what attracts those who love the truth.. Signs and experiences are all nice and well,, and from a personal experience it is wonderful to get dreams from God and to have been used to heal others.. But demanding signs is the mistake some in the scripture made..

Matthew 12 KJV
[SUP]38 [/SUP]Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

God wants you to walk by faith, not by sight... ( 2 Corinthians 5:7 )

Following the path you are on will get you nothing but confusion and trouble.

Stop praying for a sign and start living by faith. ;)

Listen to the message of Jesus:

Matthew 12:

[SUP]39[/SUP] But he answered and said unto them,
An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: [SUP]40[/SUP] For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. [SUP]41[/SUP] The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here. [SUP]42[/SUP] The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. [SUP]43[/SUP] When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. [SUP]44[/SUP] Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. [SUP]45[/SUP] Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

( Yes - I know that the "sense and tense" of the context of the passage is a bit different, and that He was talking to a different 'generation'; however, "I believe the principle holds" - look at the end of the last verse quoted... )

I think you are looking for the wrong thing:

But he answered them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign; but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” Matt 12:39 RSV

Everyone has different gifts. Don't feel bad if he doesn't come to you in that manner, he does have other ways of speaking. The word of God is going to be the most solid resource in any case if you are looking for guidance.

He sent me visions and dreams of the return of the Lord, among other things.
I have found God to have a very reassuring voice, very affirming.
All praises are due the creator

Signs come from accurately aligning God's Word with current events.

For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom;
but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness,
but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. (1 Cor 1:22-24)

welcome the site! :)
