[SUP]And that He knows me?

"
[/SUP]Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.[SUP] [/SUP]Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?[SUP] [/SUP]And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." If you have confessed your sins with a contrite heart and asked Jesus to live inside of you, and guide you, then the Lord knows you. Glad to have you join us. Welcome to CC.

Welcome to Christian Chat, Carlbass.

I think Jesus is telling us that it isn’t good enough to pretend to be a Christian. You have to actually try to do the Lord’s will – follow his commandments. There are a lot of people pretending to be Christians but we don’t need to join that group.

If you're making an honest effort to obey the Lord's commandments, you won't be turned away.

This a prophetic passage and not speaking of individual believers. Although there is an application to those who knowingly profess Christ and are not truthful it is actually speaking of nations or religions who claim to do great works for God while denying God Himself. Judaism is a perfect example and then I would point to Romanism and most of the major denominations of today as declaring a false gospel and allowing souls to die in their sins.

A believer may have full assurance of their salvation through Gods word and the witness of His Spirit with our spirit.

Ro 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

For the cause of Christ

****It is God's will for you to bear fruit (John 15)---if we are seeking to Love Him & to do His will we will bring forth fruit---this means we are in the vine----we are the branches...

You just have to believe you're saved. If you just can't believe that, then you'll be thinking you might go to hell for as long as you think Jesus is real.

Do you know the Holy Spirit? In other words, do you have a personal relationship with Jesus? The root of a yes answer for both those questions is that you know to talk to Jesus, you must access the Holy SPirit. The Holy Spirit does not speak on his own but only the words spoken to Him from Christ.

Remember when Christ walked the earth? He prayed morning, noon, and night, withdrawing often to be alone...i.e.to have fellowship with the Father.

If you spend time in the Word and learn who the Holy Spirit is...#1 He's a person. #2 He's God. #3. He's a gentleman and will not force HIs way into your life.
You have to ask Him to come in by asking Jesus to come into your heart. Someday, when you're comfortable, you just hand over your heart and Lord, here...here's my heart. Alleluia. Thank you for being here.

Then you know. You know God loves you...all three of them...and you know you're on the right page, the right path. You'll know now that God knows YOU and that you 're going home.

to heaven.
Home.

Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home.
I don't see heaven as humble, I will be when I get there. So thankful to be going home... -love Student

Hi,
THANX for responding & sharing! I truly value a believers input on this most important subject...
And Although I agree with much of what you've said, particularly in the area of Bible study and prayer... I think you're missing a key element here.
That being: The essentials of 'Love' ("For God is Love "), and how it works in a believer...
Two Scriptures come to mind:
1)"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and KNOWETH God. He that loveth not KNOWETH not God; for God is love.(1 John 4:7,8)"
2)"Master, which is the great commandment in the law?Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt LOVE the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.(Matthew 22:36-38)"
So, when I hear 'believers' say:('Just ask Jesus to come into your heart"... 'just hand over your heart and Lord, and here's my heart- Alleluia... Etc, etc...') I'm sure there hearts are probably in the right place, But just saying THAT to a person while they're in times of trials & tribulations, heartache, sickness & sufferings... Just mere 'words', while the bottom has dropped out, Is not going to get them what they need.
I believe a key missing puzzle piece to it all is found in the fellowshipping with TRUE believer(s)... Which is what I'm searching for...

"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." (Matthew 18:20)

Yours in Christ,
Carl
