When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Hello Zohar,
It would be good for you to visit several churches to find one where you feel comfortable and also a Bible study group and be sure to take your wife with you. Hopefully, you and your wife will find a group where you will have good Christian fellowship.
Here on Christian Chat there are many caring people willing to answer your questions. Also there are probably many things that we can learn from you.

I have trouble understanding that, too. Is it possible the story was told wrong? There is another like it here:

[21] And Jesus answered them, "Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and never doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will be done.
[22] And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith." Matt 21:18-22 RSV

I believe at this point you should move your chatting to a different "room". You will get more responses.
Go to the top left hand corner of this page and click/touch "Christian Chat Rooms". Then on this new page click/touch "Bible Discussion Forum" about the 4th one down. Then on Bible Discussion Form click/touch "Speak Your Mind" which is about the 13th one down. Introduce yourself and then ask your question.
These people will be interested in your questions and will be able to help you out. I will also try to answer some of your questions.
