Try Persuade Me

Hey guys, could you please try to persuade me God is real? I'm a dead set atheist who has a bunch of evidence he isn't real. Give me one slither of hope he is and I will be "saved".

Have you ever got on your knees and asked God to reveal himself to you. You have the ability to love right? God is love & gives us the ability to love one another. If there was no God you wouldn't be able to love nor would your parents. No human being created love that only comes from God

Some atheists believe that the universe sprang from a point of singularity which expanded greatly. Conditions were just right on a small fraction of planets for life to spark into existence. Somehow that simple lifeform became able to reproduce on our planet earth. Eventually through natural selection it evolved into mankind and all life on earth. All very random and fortuitous. Okay, if that's what you happen to believe then why does the earth continue to function?

Let's say you started up a self propelled lawn mower, put it in gear, and started it going out in some field of grass. How long would you expect it to go before it crashed or malfunctioned? A couple of hours? A week? Would it just keep going and going forever? Well the complex systems of life on earth are way, way, way more complex than the self propelled lawn mower. Why don't the lifeforms of earth degrade and fall apart? Given the robust nature of continuing life on earth, isn't it likely that there is some intelligent design behind it all?

Yeah I thought the same thing. So far, the OP hadn't had a truly confrontational attitude. Then again, maybe the mods know something that the rest of us don't.......

Why was he banned ?

according to the terms of service, we are not allowed to challenge the mods on any bans.... or question them.

It could have been Jack, back for another round, and they chose to "nip it in the bud".... that's why they are mods, and we are not.

Personally, I immediately saw red flags of "troll-hood" in his post.

Give me one good reason, and "I'll be saved"...... a true atheist wouldn't even consider "salvation"....

The reason for a ban is rarely shared, not allowed to be discussed. Keep in mind actions that cause bans may be places other than the forums. Chat rooms or PMs could've been involved. Or a post that caused a ban may have been removed.

If that person was lead here by God and their soul ends up lost for eternity whoever banned him will be judged

The mods know things we dont.If the mods are not trusted then people need to find another forum.

First of all the problem isn't evidence, no amount of fossil or old/young earth debates will convince you. You do not want God, I know this because I did not want God either at one time. Honestly I was the most certain of all this "fake religion stuff", at my most ignorant. I "KNEW" this "silly campfire story/old school comic book" stuff was made up by the power elite to control the weak minded, yet knew absolutely NOTHING about Jesus or what any of them claimed to believe in.

My advice is stop this whole "prove God to me" nonsense that will never work and YOU seek Him. You go to the core of your self and look into the evidence, there is all kinds of it. The biggest thing you need to realize is that all truth is not scientific truth. The biggest deception I hear today is the philosophy that says "unless it's proven scientifically then it's not true". I feel atheist like to stay in their nice safe paper and theoretical world, and forget about life experience, philosophy, human relationships, moral decisions, and so much of life that is just not considered in scientific study, and rightly so, that's not what science does.

The fact you are here does show at least some interest in the subject though. I'd even go as far as to say God may have you here, His Spirit pulling on your heart, but you may just be board and want to mock, who knows but God? That is a BIG difference in what kind of atheist you are compared to what I was. I would have never wasted 1 second of my short life "debating" what I thought were dumb, brainwashed, weak minded lemmings about an imaginary creature. I really believed what I said and lived it out in that aspect. So sure, so ignorant. He is the only one that can "prove" himself to you, you have to seek Him, we can't seek Him for you. You are here though, and you are asking some kinds of questions, but the wrong ones in my opinion.

If the rule is meant to apply to all of CC perhaps the word "chat" should be removed.

Well my question was not asked in a spirit of a challenge to anyone.. So be it.

No one is promised tomorrow the person couldve been seeking God for a while & can pass away tomorrow. If someone asks you about God today & you decide to reject them & they die the next day that will be on your hands.
