My name is Andy and I'm from London. My Christian background is in Eastern (Greek) Orthodoxy but recently I have discovered something called Preterism (all things fulfilled in 70 AD) which I know to be true. I would like to correspond with others, especially those who don't agree with preterism. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yes all things: the Second Coming, Judgement Day, the Resurrection, the arrival of the kingdom, the Apocalypse. Bible prophecy came to an end in 70 AD.

Preterism - I definitely don't think that is for me.

Why not? Didn't Jesus say, "this generation shall not pass until all things are fulfilled". He was talking about the 1st century, not the 21st century. In 70 AD the Old Heavens and Earth (the Temple) came to an end with the judgement and destruction of Old Covenant Jerusalem. Matthew 24 was all about the Apocalypse in Old Covenant Jerusalem. The Christian Church age (New Heavens and Earth) is without end. There will be no Second Coming as this was a spiritual coming in 70 AD. Remember what Jesus said to Caiaphas in Matthew, ch.26, v.64. How would you interpret this verse?

I suspect prophesies are fulfilled in each generation, and more specifically, in the life of each individual human being.

Preterists do just about the same thing many other "Christians" do. They take things spoken of in one place and time and try their best to apply those words to things mentioned decades later in another part of the Bible.

In neither case will it work unless you enter Dreamland and wish upon a star while swinging a dead cat around your head on a ten foot rope at midnight.

*** once the Rapture happens and The Great Tribulation starts this Preterist view will die...

This is not how Bible prophecy works. The physical events of the Old Testament were a type or shadow of the spiritual reality that was to come in the New Testament. By the end of the Old Covenant (70 AD) all prophesies were fulfilled and the New Covernent was born. All things were fulfilled when the Church was consummated in 70 AD. You cannot apply "new" prophecies to each generation as there were no new prophecies in the New Covernent. It was a fulfillment of the Old Covenant.

So the book of Revelation is just a review of the past? Sort of a rehashing of a history lesson?

Your views were made up by John Nelson Darby in the 18th century. Your views will die when you realise the modern and wicked state of "Israel" has got nothing to do with Bible prophecy. The Church IS the true Israel which was consummated in 70 AD by the parousia of the Son of Man. The Great Tribulation was in 70 AD so please stop waiting for this rapture. It's not going to happen.

Well, that's problematic since there has always been tribulation for Christians since the time of Jesus, (not a special future event called "The Great Tribulation.") and there is no such thing as a secret Rapture of people from the Earth prior to the final day.

If the book of Revelation was written under the reign of Nero (approx.64 AD) then it was a vision that was to happen "shortly" as it says in the 1st verse. Things that will "shortly come to pass" does not mean 2000 years in the future.
There is internal evidence from the book that it written under the reign of Nero.

I can tell you for sure Satan is alive and well and if bible prophecy was fulfilled then this New Jerusalem is just like old Jerusalem. Meaning the Bible lied. So Preterism...I don't buy it.

The "heavenly Jerusalem" from the book of Revelation spiritually came down in 70 AD after the destruction of the Old Heavens and Earth (the Temple and physical Jerusalem). The "heavenly Jerusalem" is the Church. You have to view prophecy with your spiritual eyes and not your physical eyes since Revelation was written using highly symbolic language. You were expecting something "different" because most people think there will be a utopia arriving on earth. This utopia is never going to happen.
