Hi!

I'm a transplanted Texan who has lived in Alabama for the last 5 years. I was in the IT industry for 90% of my adult working career and was laid off (again) about 6 months ago so... I am undergoing a lot of personal growth and pursuing new things. (See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19) I've struck out on my own and am working on a freelance career in writing, editing, and moderating. Lil' bit scary but exciting as well. I can't wait to see what God does with it. :)

I'm a single mom to a <now> teen (eeek! :D). Actually, she's a pretty good kid and housemate. She's adopted from China and has my heart. We live with 4 rescued dogs...and yes, 4 dogs is TOO many. What was I thinking? Clearly, I was not thinking about all the hair!!

I consider myself to be pretty laid back and enjoy learning about people (while my career is in IT, my educational background is actually in Psychology and Writing). For those of you who keep track of that kind of thing, I'm an INFJ-A ("Advocate").

Other random facts: I bought my current house, sight unseen, on the Internet. (Totally God on that one.) I've been held at gunpoint by the Mexican Army. (I had great bladder control then so I was able to refrain from wetting my pants!) The weirdest thing I've ever eaten, on purpose, was fried jellyfish. (It was what I imagine chewing rubber would be like.) I watch the same movie (While You Were Sleeping) every time I am sick or too stressed because it gives me warm fuzzies.

Since I'm working from home now, I'm having a little bit of people withdrawals. I look forward to chatting with you here. Cheers!

Thanks Magenta!

We've 'downsized'.... at one point, we shared with a cat, 2 guinea pigs and the dogs. It was a zoo.

Welcome, I must be up front, I have no clue what INFJ is, so I will look it up. Even then I am not sure I could hold any coherent conversation on it.
I am a bit of a nut and find hummer in the estranges things. So look out my friend, I may just start laughing for what seem no reason at all to most people.
Anyhow, enjoy your time here, I am sure you will not be disappointed.
May HaShem bless your new undertaking.

I am going to leave that as it is, I just want it known, I was not trying out on a speed dating thing.

Ah! Chicago is one of my favorite cities to visit. I always thought it I was single without a kiddo, I'd have lived there in the city.

I have been through west Texas a few times (took forever to get through there even from my home-base of Austin, ha!) Went through El Paso to get to Carlsbad one year. Spent a week's vacation in Big Bend and Alpine area one year. It's a great place to disappear if you want to be alone, that's for sure.

Hi Dragone, welcome to CC. You sure sound like you have a lot of interesting and exciting stories to tell and someone I can learn a thing or two from. You just made me ask dear google what is INFJ-A? Learnt something new today..thanks. I have two teenage daughters, age 19 and 15 and they inspire me to seek God passionately so I can be all that God has called me to be. God's blessings and guidance as you embark on your creative journey.
