Like your nic. Hope you find lots of good post that speak to your heart, and some that open your eyes to new things. Even if they are not what you hope for, or follow in your own walk, keep in mind that they may hold something you have never thought of before. No mater how long a person studies the Word, there is always something new to be found if one simply looks.

Thank you Rainrider. Its so true, we can all learn new things. Just last week we heard a teaching on the prodigal son. Just when a person thinks they know everything there is to know about the story someone can come up with a new angle to take on it.

Amen to that. I use the phrase, what we think we know a lot. As in no mater how well, or how much we think we know, someone will teach us something new, that may change how we see something. If we keep an open mind an heart, what we think we know is good for now, just never forget, that at some point, someone may teach us we had it wrong. I know full well that the things I think I know, can be changed, it just takes time to show me the way.

Hey Rainrider,
It is good to meet with others who are willing to learn and share. It is amazing how often we can be brought back to a point of learning, and then one day we finally get it. For some of us, it is like the time in the wilderness, where we wander for so long, often unnecessarily. Hopefully we do all get the lesson at some point. Have a great day.

Uh..

Hello! I'm probably a little different when it comes to the smaller nitty gritty parts of our faith, but I believe in Christ, accept he died for me, believe in the trinity and abide by the ten commandment and of course Jesus' eleventh and twelveth command, love others, and love God.
Personally, I see these things as the necessities, the rest is the the nitty gritty, in my opinion that is. If I missed any major tenets remind me! If it's a true tenet I probably know and believe/abide by it, but forgot to mention it.

I do have some different beliefs than most, I have lots of trouble fitting in. I don't believe being gay is bad or that the same sex shouldn't marry, however strangely I'm an independent but leaning towards being Republican.... Yeah like I said, I can't hang with the liberal Christians most of the time, or the conservative ones. I understand if you don't agree with me or wish not to converse.

However if I even find a single friend, even if they don't agree with me, this will have been worth it.

We don't need to agree on every little thing. There are somethings that if we let them, can become so disproportionately, argumentative, that one can loss sight of the true intent. Yet at the same time, there are others that simply need to be addressed, and at times it best to do so out of the public ear. Folks that know really know me, and understand me, think I am nuts. So you may have just found another like you. At lest in some ways anyhow.
