It seems a bit awkward to get on and around this site. I guess I will get used to it.
One question about the Bible I've had for a long time is about what everyone calls the genealogy of Jesus. The one listed is actually the genealogy of Joseph who is not a blood relative to Jesus. I've been taught that Mary is of the same tribe as Joseph but where in the Bible does it say?

Hello Karen, welcome to CC! I hope you enjoy your time with us :)

Questions about the genealogy of Jesus may get more responses in the BDF, which some people might say stands for battle dome fighting, but that is the Bible Discussion Forum. There may even be threads available on that topic :)

I'm still trying to figure out where to go for what. I don't see any place for posting on the home page.

What you do is look down at all the different forums down the page. If you want to talk about scriptures and bible topics choose the bible discussion forum. Once there you'll see a new thread button. Click that and give your post a title and in the box is where you'll write your post.

Each forum works the same way. If you still don't understand, ask again and I'll try to explain better or someone else will. :)

The different forums are listed here: Christian Chat Rooms & Forums @ Christian Chat .com!

When you go into any forum section, you will see that the first couple of threads are locked. These are messages to members, and nobody can post on a locked thread. Those are followed by threads members create. There are pages and pages of threads in these forums; for instance, the BDF goes back to 2008, with 1,666 threads to look at if you wish to, or have the time. Bumping a really old thread is often frowned upon, so if you did see a thread on the genealogy of Jesus, but nobody had posted there for many months or years, it might be best to create your own thread to ask the question you would like answers to. When responding to a post, if you select Reply With Quote, people know to whom you are speaking :)

I meant 1,666 pages of threads. Each page has 20 threads on it :)

That is over 33,000 threads in one forum

So there is no open chat area where you can ask where everyone is from, etc.?

Karen, if you want to do that you can go into the chat where you can listen and talk to other members of CC. You'll see a blue button that says chat now on the main page. Fill in the options to the left of it before you click chat now.

Why do you want to know where people live?

I think it is interesting to see where people are from. I'd thought I was in an open chat and it is a way to start a conversation. I'm finding it a bit awkward here.
