Hello :)

Good Morning! I have not participated in a chat room before but am excited at the opportunity to talk with other Christians. If anyone should have advice on how all of this works I am open to it. I don't think I am looking for anything specific by joining a chat room, just some companionship in a positive and loving environment. Any suggestions on where I should begin?

These are forums, not chat rooms. Just start browsing around, and post if you'd like. Avoid the Bible forum if you're easily hurt, it gets rough in there so put on your big-girl armor. Check out the Ladies forum and the Testimonies forum. Welcome to CC.

I would say remember we all have unique personalities. It's quite shocking to see some of the replies on here because it is a Christian site. We are all learning.
Advice comes from experience.
Other than that, jump in the forum's. Plenty to discuss.

Click the blue "chat now" tab at the top of the forum page. You should land in the Lounge. I find the chat rooms boring. And people totally ignore you if you ask a question.. The forums are much better.

On this site there are two basic types, the chat peeps and the forum peeps. I believe that you will find that the most in-depth and meaningful conversations occur in the forums. After awhile you will really get to know the members, who they are and what they are about and will have ample opportunity for the members to get to know you too through the posts you write.
