Step one, Jesus healed people all over. Performed miracles in front of crowds. They tortured and murdered him. So if they did such a thing to him for healing and doing miracles it seems to make sense they would look down on us as well.

Second, to put it as the bible does, the message of the cross is foolishness to the world. The world's motto is "truth is subjective, make yourself happy". God's motto is "truth is absolute, serve others".
Lastly, as the earth continues spinning and the years go by many churches have lost site of their true purpose. To teach Christians and provide a temporary refuge for believers to build one another up.
Churches have become focused on filling pews and tithing baskets. Teaching salvation messages every week, rather than teaching messages to Christians. They encourage their congregation to bring people in and let the pastor do all the work, rather than the pastor teaching people how to witness. Turn praise and worship into a concert and you have churches full of non-christians, fake Christians and part timers.

We are a messy mass of contradictions and rules and regulations that we say they must follow or go to hell. Even though we often don't follow them ourselves, and neither do the human pew warmers.
Much of what is perceived as Christianity IS a joke anymore.

Welcome here you can discuss with bible smart people and possibly make new friends, hope you like it here!
Having experience in a non believer site as well as from other experiences, alot of people who aren't Christians,or pretend Christians, don't respect Christians because our working for and believing upon God doesn't "fit" their life style or they prefer their "own knowledge" over belief in God,so they mock us,because in their mind everything has to "agree with them" otherwise it isn't for them or isn't real.
Also more abundantly non believers mock or are disgusted with God because they've read that he is loving so they think that he isn't allowed to kill in any form especially concerning children, deaths or killings in the bible concerning children by God in some way they view as not loving,so they think him to be evil instead, the other obvious reasons they give are of that they can't see God so they think him not real also they seek for evidence of God outside the bible but conveniently ignore his creation of "All" just so they can be supposedly "right" even though the uniqueness of his creations is so obvious they speculate with "their evidence" that they can "agree with" but of course the bible as well as God do not agree with these speculations they call theories, all making sense usually but conveniently "leaving out God" so as that pretty much everything created itself and created us somehow in the process through supposed process of evolution from water creature without visible form,to creature, and so on to us as we are now, nearly every theory talking on millions or billions of years concerning most that can only be guessed about but once again "conveniently" they can say their theory is true, such as with dinosaurs or the sun,or even the beginning of life, just because it "makes sense to them" so by that thought process the bible isn't true to them once again, don't let it bother you it is foretold that such technical doctrine will keep popping up and we shall be mocked alongside our Jewish brethren, for believing upon God but more so mocked in our case for believing upon Jesus all for his name sake will we endure this,so endure knowing that you do so for Jesus.(assuming you are saved)

What's wrong with my fellow Christians ?
Hello noise! Nice to meet you! My name is Dan. What actually is your question? I see the title is "Why non-Christians think Christians are a joke?" And then you offset that with your live question, "What's wrong with my fellow Christians?" I'm not sure what you are looking for? But suffice it to say:

[h=1](Matthew 10:22-23): ...The Voice (VOICE)[/h]22-23 When you are persecuted in one town, flee to the next town. This is the truth: you will not be able to witness to every town in Israel before the Son of Man comes. Everyone will hate you because of Me. But remember: the one who stays on the narrow path until the end will be saved.

Hosea 1: KJV
10 "¶ Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God."

Romans 9: KJV

24 "Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? {25} As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. {26} And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God."
