Hello,

I live in Germany, in Saxony, a very atheist part of the world because of the past communism.
I come from South-Africa but do not live there because I'm white and the Government is anti-white.
I grew up in a very Christian culture, was baptised in the Reformed church and later also in a Pentecostal church.
I now attend and is member of the German Lutheran church of Saxony.
I'm interested in Philosophy in general, Theology too, especially Eschatology.
I like to compare culture and habits too so that allows for some talk of more banal things.

Greetings

Henog

Hallo Danja I used to study Theology with a woman in SA called Danja.
Other than that I met some very nice Albanians here in Germany they came to apply for asylum in Germany but got sent back obviously because there is no war in Albania. My friend and I are planning go to visit them in Albania this year!
Even now I have contact with Albanians weekly, also "Refugees". :)

Oh yes, I've seem some people from Kosovo too, the people I know come from Kosovo proper, one couple from Tirana for example. You have a very unique language, very difficult to learn because it doesn't really relate to any other European language. But I don't have to tell you about your language... :D Where are you from?

Greetings Henog, it is good to have you join us. You will find many interesting friends here on Christian Chat with many questions and comments for you.

You live in a very beautiful part of Germany. I visited Saxony during the DDR times and remember seeing the Zwinger and what was left of the Frauenkircher in Dresden. We had good friends in Oberlausitz. I have lived im Allgäu and the Rheinland Pfalz areas. My wife kommt aus Bremen. I would love to discuss the Dutch and Afrikaner languages with you.

It is good that you made the move to Germany. It is a much safer country. Even with Zuma's removal, little in SA will change.

Henog, welcome to Christian Chat. I look forward to your posts.

Oh great, you must be a little older than me to have seen the Frauen Kirche in ruins. Many Germans are still upset about the allies bombing civilian Dresden like that, some hold it for unnecessary. But such is war.

Nonetheless the Church has been rebuild and is now in use again. A few months ago F.W. de Klerk the last president of the old South-Africa came to Frauen Kirche to give a speech an be honored as "a saviour of the world". I had the inclination to go protest the affairs of current South-Africa in front of that church at the day he was speaking but in the end I had better things to do.

I made the move to Germany but I'm not planning on changing my citizenship (yet). Recently I had to think about what I'll do when it comes to civil war in South-Africa, will I go and fight or will I stay in "exile". It does seem to be heading in that direction unfortunately.

Maar gelukkig woon ek hier in vrede in Duitsland, prys die Here, dank die Here. ;)

Greetings.

Thank you very much. I must however qualify the atheism where I am in order not to be misunderstood. It is another and more complete atheism than the atheism of the west. I am in the east.
The atheism you're talking about is often a more "Christian atheism" in reaction to Christianity and in opposition to it, no?
Here were I am people do not even have the means to enter into conversation about Christianity, they often know nothing about Christianity. They have been socialised as Atheists in communist Germany whereas atheists in the west have often been socialised as Christians. It's a bit different.
