Hey,

I'm Josh from Australia, I have come here to meet and make friends with like-minded people that follow the bible.
I was a born-again Christian when I was 10 but now I need to do it again, to cleanse me of my sins and change my ways as I have done a lot of bad over the years with a lot of alcohol, drugs, partying, Premarital sex and lies.
I'm turning 28 this year and something has been drawing me to the Lord Jesus again so here I am.

I have been finding it hard to go to Christ again but I have purchased my first bible since I was a young child.
My GF is an atheist and I have a 3-year-old son (NOAH) with her but we weren't married before all of that and she is not wanting to change her atheistic ways, there's always an argument when I bring up anything about my Christian beliefs she try to mock it and come up with anything to disprove a god.

If anyone can give me some guidance on what I should do pls tell me.

The prodical son returns.

Luke 15:20-24

20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.

You bring with you a lot of baggage. Give it up to God.
Confess it, accept his forgiveness, and walk in it.

You need to establish roots in your faith and grow in your faith.

I would suggest that you do not bring your Christan beliefs.
I would suggest you walk in your Christan beliefs.
Walking the walk is better than just talking the talk.

What is the situation between you and your GF in terms of living together or not?

G'day there Mighty Warrior
greetings from the Barossa Valley, South Australia.
I too am born again by water and the Holy Spirit.
And I can testify how the gospel and the indwelling Holy Spirit can turn
around a sinful and immoral man 180 degrees and make him a saint.

1: You and your girlfriend. You're not the first person to be in this
predicament: unequally yoked as Paul would put it.
But you must start with yourself if you are to have any hope of
influencing your girlfriend, and being a blessing to your son.

2: don't lecture and argue with your GF. You won't win her over
through that. Don't try to force her to do or believe against her
will. She's not ready yet. You lead by example first.

3. Get your own life in order, and start living your faith.
You said you are born again. Hopefully that means that you can
pray in tongues. If so then do it. The power of the Holy Spirit is
made alive when we pray in tongues.

4. You need to start going to a Pentecostal church so that your
born again faith can grow and prosper.
I don't know where abouts you live in Queensland but I'll give you
the website contact for The Revival Fellowship in Brisbane.
There are other assemblies in Qld.

Start with yourself. You are dealing with eternal salvation of your
soul. And as a husband and father your faith and righteous living
can bring great blessings upon your family.

Enjoy CC and you can always private message me.

There are all kinds of peeps from Australia on this site so you should feel at home. You should have no trouble at all making friends with like-minded people. Sounds like you have had a typical life so far for a young person but I'm glad that you are feeling a draw to Lord Jesus. You're in a hard spot being unequally yoked but I would continue to pray for her and for God to give you the right words to say and to be a fine example of a young Christian man. There will be no shortage of those offering guidance here, a lot of it may actually benefit you in your spiritual journey. Glad to have you as part of our family. Welcome to CC.

There's a jar of that concoction in our pantry. I believe that my wife got that before we even met and it is still unopened. Is that like Nutella? Haven't tried that either. If I were still a drinking man I would crack open a Foster's and enjoy it during the game tonight.

It is nothing like Nutella. Nutella is sweet, made with hazelnuts, cocoa, and sweetened condensed milk (or something like that :D) and vegemite tastes like brewers yeast and liver  LOL

G'Day and welcome aboard Mightywarrior.. from a fellow Aussie :)

We do not need to sacrifice Jesus anew.. If one believes Jesus and trusts in the Atonement He secured for us by His death upon the cross then one is covered by His blood and forgiven their every sin for their entire lives.. So no need to get ""saved"" again..

Also if your atheist wife brings up an argument that you do not have the wisdom to counter you may find an answer in this forum if you post her argument here..

Sadly you have not taken the wise advice of the Holy Bible.. That being not to be yoked with unbelievers.. So the situation for you will be one of stress and possible family conflict through you life.. But the Bible also says that you should remain with your wife as long as she is willing to remain with you.. May you be a Christian Dad to your child.. May you grow in wisdom to be a blessing to your little one..

Sorry i did not read your post well enough to know your partner is not your wife but your girl friend.. This makes things more difficult for you and Noah.... :(

The whole idea of converting a non-believing gf/bf ends more commonly in tragedy than success. If you want to stick around a bit longer and see if anything changes, since your own change is new, that's understandable under the circumstances. But eventually you're going to have to make a choice.
