1 Cor 15:55“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” 56The sting of death is sin,and the power of sin is the Law.

Romans 3:20
Therefore no one will be justified in His sight by works of the Law. For the Law merely brings awareness of sin.

Romans 4:15
because the Law brings wrath. And where there is no law, there is no transgression.

Romans 7:8
But sin, seizing its opportunity through the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from the Law, sin is dead.

About the accuser of the brethren, if you type in, "The accuser of the brethren," you will get the verse.
How many more verses can we find. the one who sais, "He accuses them day and night,"
But there is also our self pity that works against us, "For if you forgive not, neither will your Father in heaven forgive you." The self pity causes people to fall back in addictions they were set free from. "Godly sorrow leads to repentance, but worldly sorrow leads to death."
Also "Pride goes before a fall.", "When pride comes, then comes shame,"
