Well GDUNN, if you want to get closer to the Lord; don't go looking for Him in a church. Get a Bible and start reading Proverbs to get your mind in the right place. Do you have any previous experience with any Christian groups? Any experience with God's word? We need to know more about where you are with these. Welcome to CC and good hunting.

Listen to Deade about searching out a church so quickly ... The vast majority of churches do not preach the truth these days ... The Bible is where you will find the truth ... After you read Proverbs it would be great to read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John plus the 10 Commandments found in Exodus 20 ... This will give you a firm foundation of what God is truly about and a good grasp of His rules ... You have made a very wise choice in searching for the truth ...
