Hi...
I am here to talk to people who beleive in God. I would like to communicate with them and talk about their beliefs in general. I only beleive in God. I do not beleive in any religion. I have a lot of questions and want to know what people of different faiths think about those questions and if my questions can be answered. I want to make some friends with whom I can talk openly and ask all my questions and discuss on different questions.

I am a female living in the Netherlands, origianally from Afghanistan, 27 years old, working as assistant controller.

Maryam,
Sorry about the typos above.

What makes you think there's a God?

You may be interested in how the King James Bible differs from modern Bibles.
The verses are Luke 9:35 (Modern Bibles have God said that Jesus was chosen), 1 John 5:17 (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) are not in modern Bibles. The following verse has 3 things, 'water, blood and Spirit.' Bible teacher Chuck Missler says the Spirit is not male or female but is a neuter noun. Read 1 Corinthians 2 where the apostle Paul compares the Spirit of God to the spirit of man. Compare to John 16 where Jesus says another Comforter will be sent and He will lead us into truth.
Revelation 1:8-11 (Jesus is the Lord Almighty (2 Corinthians 6:18, God the Father is the Lord God Almighty. Jesus is not the Alpha and Omega in the beginning of Revelation but does have this title at the end of Revelation.

The Christian Creeds were written to defeat the belief that God is one and Jesus was humanly begotten (He had a beginning.)
The Creeds state that God is 3 persons which are the one God and Jesus is eternally begotten (He did not have a beginning).
Hebrews is an important book of the Bible to study. No one knows who wrote it. I think Timothy did because he is an intelligent person with a sense of humor gained from being the only uncircumcised male attending Sabbath services because his father was Greek while his mother and grandmother were Jews. Plus the Greek grammar surpasses Paul's writings.

Hi, it's the same name written or spelled differently. Mariam or Maryam is the Islamic version or Maria from the bible. :)

Christianity is not a religion but rather a way of life. Religion is just man's attempt to please God and that will always fall short and miss the mark. I hope that you find this site to be spiritual edifying and a blessing to you. Glad to have you as part of our community. Welcome to CC.

I think your best shot at understanding basic Christian doctrine would be to go to John, Acts, and Romans. Read straight from the horse's mouth and try your best to understand them in context. Then come in and field questions.

Also, find a decent Church near you (if possible), and ask these questions in person.

While I and others on here are willing to share with you and deliver the Gospel, forum queries are not the best way of developing that understanding.
