Okay, so you agree then that baby can’t possibly have lived a full life, by definition here ?

What if the baby turns out to be like Hitler or Justin Trudeau?

I said nothing about "hiding wisdom" God's wisdom is in his word the bible and through the Holy spirit but as for someone seeking such wisdom and actually grasping such wisdom is what makes the difference ,for instance if God were to "plainly"(unlikely) tell us the answer to something like say,how he formed stars,we would be "confused" because often we want a "simple concrete out right answer" and even on the rare occasion that God gives us "such an answer" people still "question God" because of what they "want" instead of "what they get".
An example of this is Jesus,it was eventually made "plainly clear" who he was to nations yet many were hoping for "someone else" or expecting him to "look different" than he was or act "different" than he was.
Wisdom from God is all about "willing to learn","striving to learn" "asking questions" and "accepting answers" it's not that God's wisdom isn't ever present it's just that we have to learn "discernment" as well as "humbleness".(opening ourselves to God instead of searching for answers alone)

Blessed with a child, winning the lottery) they attribute it to prayers being answered... implying that God intervened to cause this to happen in some way. These seem like contradictory ideas.. does God intervene or does he not ? Shouldn’t we be angry at God for not saving an innocent baby but instead helping someone’s great Aunt Carole recover from cancer?

    If you want specific answers:
You can find many different reasons in the Bible that God allows suffering in order to bring about some greater good.

If you want a more general answer, without using the Bible:
It is simply a logical impossibility for mortals, with limited knowledge, to understand all the motives of an infinite being with infinite knowledge. So if we cannot even UNDERSTAND all of his motives, we best not imagine we know enough to JUDGE his motives.

It is much like a parent with a child.

Does a little child understand everything the parent does?
    No.
The child simply understands very little compared to the parent.
Does the parent explain everything to the child?
    Not everything.
Some things the parent explains, and some things the parent does not explain.
The child's intellectual and emotional levels dictate that some explanations about the world are best left unexplained.

So, the parent makes the judgment on not only what to DO with the child, but also on how much to EXPLAIN.

Of course it is because we have to get all of what we "think" we know out of the way and seek to be "retaught",pride being perhaps the toughest thing to let go of.

@ugly.. Sounds like you are offended by my point of view.. sorry ! Yes I do believe that hiding things, or intentionally failing to disclose, is a form of negligence/ deceit. For example, it is ethical to read someone their rights when they are arrested, so that they know what to expect, etc. and can follow the law and receive the rights that are granted to them.. doesn’t mean that person will fully understand what the laws they are read will mean and they should be able to ask questions/ for clarification about what they don’t! if clarification isn’t provided, that would be a form of deceit or withholding of information that is not just or fair because it negatively affects that persons wellbeing.. imo

His ability to grasp and understand and see is beyond what we will ever even imagine. Humans or mortal, finite and limited. Even the smartest people can't fathom to understand a fraction of what God knows and sees.
The bible does not contain all that God knows, nor does it claim to.
To say it's 'hiding' is a statement beyond ridiculous and shows that you are not actually seeking to understand. You are here to cause trouble and start arguments. There will be no answer good enough for you because you have already decided what you believe and are not Actually, Genuinely interested in even attempting to see things in any other manner. So no need to waste time going further with someone like that.
A possibility but this individual may just be "frustrated" wanting answers as with all of us when we first sought answers.

Well no need to fret God's wisdom lies in his word(the bible/Jesus) and the Holy spirit, the bible being great for learning and the Holy spirit being "greater than" the bible in wisdom for the Holy spirit allows us wisdom from God in more abundance as well "understanding" of the bible when one reads it.

@joefizz thank you for your response.. yes it is frustrating... having been raised a Christian and then experiencing all of the bad that life has to offer.. still seeking faith but not understanding what it means to have faith in anything due to the amount of overwhelming suffering.. and also being introduced to other cultural beliefs such as Hinduism... “wisdom” maybe ? who knows... but I plan on continuing to learn and fostering the desire to learn in my children ! but yes I will likely shelter them from some “adult” things in the meantime so maybe there are some answers to be gained from this conversation about why humans can’t possess all of the wisdom of the world..... to be continued....
