Hi,
My name is Natsuyo. I m doing a homework assignment. So I have 5 question s to ask and you will voice your own opinions.
1)What do you think about the Old Testament of the Bible?
2) Should we even read it?
3) Have you ever read the Old Testament? Why?
4) What do you know about the Old Testament? A favorite character.
5)Do you think the Old Testament has anything of value to offer us?

Hello Natsuyo.

1. I think the OT is a God written/inspired collection of books, recorded for our benefit to edify us in our walks with Christ.
2. Yes, we should.
3. Yes, why shouldn’t we?
4. I have a few, Abraham, Joseph, King David, Samuel to name a few.
5. Yes I do, absolutely. How would we know how God created the heaven and earth?

Blessings.

1.It's a part of the Bible.
2.Yes if you want to know God's "whole" word.
3.Yes because I began writing a composition on memory teaching due to a passion for wanting to be a Christian church children teacher which required me to read the entire bible including the Old testament.
4.I know that David is very important to the New testament, and that Genesis answers many things concerning promises, creation, and sin,and that the Old testament has many differences and similarities to the New testament as well as that both have time lines that aren't in "order" concerning a beginning, middle, and end at least as we are accustomed to and so both are best to read in order to "make sense" of the entire Bible even in portion.
My favorite character maybe Noah due to his odd behaviour.
5.Yes,wisdom and a way to get to know God better.

Also opinions aren't typically what I share concerning God's word the bible because I trust his word.

Hello Natsuyo, welcome to cc. I hope you'll enjoy your stay here.

1. It is part of God's word.
2. Of course, we read it. It unlocks the New Testament.
3. Of course, I've read it. Why? Because we learn about what God expects from us.
4. We are given the keys to unlock all prophecy in the Old Testament. Favorite character: King David.
5. Of course, see all of the above.

These would be good questions to ask in the Bible Discussion Forum as not everyone reads and responds to the intro threads. I believe that the OT is the Word of God and there are numerous verses in the OT that Jesus and others would quote from the OT as the NT had yet to be written.

Yes, it should absolutely be read to provide proper context on the character of God as displayed in the NT. I have read the entire Old Testament 4 times and various other OT verses many times.

My favorite character in the OT is Job as that is an excellent example of persevering in your faith despite the trials that may come your way.

The entire Word of God has a tremendous amount to offer and each and every word was transcribed for a purpose in assisting us in our spiritual growth.

You have asked some interesting and important questions.

Glad to have you as part of our community. Welcome to CC.
