Hello Longingforheaven, and welcome to Christian Chat.

Just try to remember that if they knew Christ as Saviours these Words of David:
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.
Psalms 116:15
Isaiah also says this:
The righteous perishesth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
Isaiah 57:1
If they know Christ it is a great thing for them
For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ, which is far better:
Philippians 1:23
Paul tells the Church in Philippi, that it was far better for him to go home to be with Christ.
Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
Philippians 1:24
But he also tells them it was more important for them for him to stay.

I really think this applies to all of us. It is needful as long as possible to keep our love ones, here. But God is not ashamed to be called our God (Hebrews 11:16). So yes it is a very sorrowful time for you, as a dear one dies (Ecclesiastes 3:2) and now you have a time to weep (Ecclesiastes 3:4).

I will be praying for you,
Psalms 51:17
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Welcome to CC, Longingforheaven.

I’ve lost my mother and dad. Two things helped. First, the Lord is always with us and we can always talk with him. Second, it has been very helpful to have a church family.

I remember the last two times I lost my Uncles. I guess i was pretty upset and sad.
I once heard of a man and wife who lost their child. At the funeral, they actually held a prayer and worship service. If that is not Praising God in a storm, I do not know what that is.

Hello and welcome to CC. I have lost a few family members and a couple of very close friends. It is tough and as Christians we have the same feelings of loss and missing loved ones that others do. But, we have Hope in the knowledge we will see them again in eternity.

Yes, I lost my only sister 2 years ago. I grieved for several months. It is better now and I know is with Jesus and our loved ones who have gone before her. The Lord helped me through the Crisis Line, Focus On The Family , and a Chaplin's Line. I am encouraged to live and help others the Lord brings into my life again. Glory to His name forever.
