new and lost

Hello to all that read this. I come to this site seeking friendship and guidance to becoming a christian. For many years I have longed to become a christian but I do not know the process of religion. Growing up i only attended church with a friend at the times when I was asked to join them. I throughly enjoyed it and found myself wanting more. Through the obstacles of life I allowed myself to focus on helping others and forgot about maintaining my own happiness. So after the many trials of life I feel as though I have hit rock bottom, and am now trying to discover myself and and pursue becoming a christian but I do not know where to start. I have been reading the bible but I feel that I am not understanding it fully. The city in which I live in, I only know the one that I am married to and this relationship has become broken. Therefore I do not have anyone here to go to for assistance. I would greatly enjoy the friendship, guidance, and trust of someone who could assist me in my quest.

It is good that you have started on this road on your own it will make it easer once you find a church. That is my first recomndation is find a church that you feel at home with, they can and will help you understand the bible. Also do not feel bad with being lost with the bible it is hard to understand at times and thats mostly to do with we have yet gotten to the point in our walk as christian to be ready for that revelation. This may all sound like gibberish to you it did to me at first when I first committed my life to the Lord I was so confused to were to start I read the bible like a book from front to back little did I know until later that the bible is not in a set order it does not flow like a chapter book so I also recomened you do not read the bible it that fashion. I hope this helps a little I know when I fist started on this it was hard and I failed got confused and messed up but thanks to Gods mercy I made it through and if your willing to stand strong and keep searching God will guide you through. The first step you have taken with wanting to find God since in His eyes you are not lost your His child just trying to find His path for you. I pray that you find you find your path I also pray you find people close to you that you can trust that will stand by you since I am not sure had I not found my church and had there prays and saw Gods light through them I could stand as strong. I usto find the bible was confusing, but I asked the lord to open my eyes sould and heart to his word and he did, he wrote the bible for us a personal love letter to us, to show us the way. Trust me just ask him to show you and he will. The bible is like a secret code writed for his people.

one other thing christianity hun isn't a religion, its a personal relashionship with your father. Well to me thats what it means to me.

Faithwalker75 said what I was going to say, Talk to Jesus...it may seem odd at first...but once He starts giving you wisdom and understanding...
you will find it is hard to live with out it. May God open the eyes of your heart and give you spiritual understanding. In Jesus name Amen

Isaiah 55:8,9

And My thoughts than your thoughts.

John 14:12-13 - "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it." and Matthew 21:22 - "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." If you ask God to give you understanding of His word, He will do it. It IS His will that you understand His word, and if you ask, believing, you will receive!

A simply prayer to pray. Jesus, I am a sinner and in need of your forgiveness. I can't go on like I have. I ask for your forgiveness. God i thank you for sending your son to die for me. Amen. Once you prayed the sinners prayer, believe and have faith. When you pray this prayer HE will talk to you and guide you. Keep reading the bible and seek after HIM. Seek HIS face.
