You arguments could be stated in accordance with many other religions.
All other religions do not have the remedy for death and human evil like Christianity does.

It is the only true religion because of its teaching about God, the present world, and its redemption.
You see, since the Fall of Adam and Eve (in Genesis 3), all of mankind and all of creation went through a total change. Death, suffering and evil entered into the whole cosmos because human sin. Humans, being made in the Image and Likeness of God (see Genesis 2), decided to rebel against God and accept the council of the Serpent (the Devil), who told them that the could become like God without God. Since then, the whole earth has been cursed by God and made subjected to death (death being a mercy of God because in this way God makes human evil temporal, for if we would not die, we would end up like the demons, in a state of eternal sin).
Jesus Christ, being the Eternal Word of God and the Ultimate Revelation of God to us humans (made in God's Image), came down from Heaven and incarnated in the Virgin Mary. He lived a human life like us, except He was God. He performed miracles and was even tempted by the Devil in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). At the end, He suffered the ultimate temptation by being crucified. After his crucifixion, he rose from the dead according to the the prophesy in Holy Scriptures. His death and other accounts of his life also being told much earlier by the prophets as well. Because He rose from the dead on the 3rd day, He has given us a redemption from death, suffering and evil. 1Jojn_2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

You will find these things being told about in the Holy Scriptures (Bible), you just have to read the New Testament (the 4 Gospels esp.), certain parts of the Old Testament (like Genesis, Psalms, the Prophets).

Christianity was never mean to become "One of the Great Religions", it was made to become the End and Fulfillment of All Religions. Christianity is about a Kingdom, the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of the One True God. It is the Wisdom of God and the Power of God, Jesus Christ.

1Co 1:24 " but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
1Co 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1Co 1:26 For you see your calling, brothers, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many powerful, not many noble, are called.
1Co 1:27 But God chose the foolish things of the world in order that He might humiliate the wise, and God chose the weak things of the world in order that He might humiliate the mighty.
1Co 1:28 And the base things of the world, and the things having been despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, in order that He might nullify the things which are,
1Co 1:29 so that no flesh may boast before God.
1Co 1:30 But from Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption;
1Co 1:31 that, as it is written, "He that boasts, let him boast in the LORD."

Thanks, I know. Been there, read that.

You can quote all day long, you aren't teaching me anything new. Using more adjectives does not change the facts.

I don't know what else I can do for you but tell you to read this exposition. Its a work titled "Against The Heathen". It was written by St Athanasius of Alexandria (4th C). He was a Church Father.

Here it is, AGAINST THE HEATHEN

6. For as the light is noble, and the sun, the chief cause of light, is nobler still, so, as it is a divine thing for the whole world to be filled with his knowledge, it follows that the orderer and chief cause of such an achievement is God and the Word of God.
This person writes well, with full and described meanings, however the writer's work is loaded with bias and opinion. Fully loaded.

It's a very well written "My Religion is this best religion speech and here's why: quote from my religion, paraphrase from bible, their Gods aren't real, etc."
The matter can't be settled because there is no proof that the Gods of any religion exist.
Typical "mines bigger than yours", instead it's religion, by scolars and religious men. In the end, they all sit on similar ground unverifiable or certain of the truth's they proclaim.

Christians are making the assumption that the world and all that exists is so fantastic and complex and unbelievable that it must have been created.

Christians are often describing the world as this complex, vast, beauty. It is purely opinion, which aims at providing basis for a creator.

I am human, I experience daily the logic of cause and effect. It makes sense, everything exists, therefore something must have caused it.
There are two problems with this assumption:
a) Then, what caused God? If nothing, then why can't nothing have created existence just as equally? (We/Most religions have assumed, because of cause and effect that divine semi-human like "in the image of God" entities or an entity created all of existence. Christianity is amongst hundreds, if not thousands, of ancient and modern relgions/faiths of varying sizes all of which have equal faith value in the realm of the "super-natural", but all trying to prove the same thing. Existence was caused by something, and entity so they/many think.
b) If you study the Big Bang Theory, you'll see that cause and effect aren't part of the logic ( which many scientists believe) formed the/our universe.

You can't prove God without quoting scripture. You need to believe in the scripture (all of it, esp. the miracles) to believe in God. I don't believe that the scripture is accurate or proof enough in the matters of miraculous events to believe in the Christian God or any god(s) for that matter. My reasons are listed throughout other posts.

I don't like Christianity or Christians that can't accept some people don't believe what they believe. I have delt with billigerent Christians. I want to believe what they are telling me so that they will stop bothering me with it, but that would not be true to the religion or what I actually believe.

God is an idea, purely an idea for better or worse, obviously Jesus thought for better, and for that he is much of a God as any man will every be.

The bible is a good tool for living a life of good conduct for the benifit of not only ones self, but for others. The topic of the afterlife and Gods are the reason people must follow these rules set out by the writers of them, all the time (or as much as possible).

From this, I would agree, that human nature is good, or at least, wants and hopes to be good, seeing the many religions of the world trying to give us reasons why being good is better.

In most ways this is very true, being good is beneficial to all your being and the being of others.

Last post (I hope). I think that being good to others is logical, and religious texts are helpful in that matter.

I disagree that (as some Christians believe) you must believe in God to understand how to properly treat others. I used to be convinced religion was the only way to be a good person. I was wrong.

I'd rather be a good person because I have decided to be a good person and make that logical decision (because I know it will benefit everyone around me and in turn myself) than be a good person because a have a title "Christian" or I am doing it for a symbolic entity, an unverifiable bible, or an afterlife no person knows anything about. That seems false to me.

Maybe I am wrong, but you can't prove it. <--- Can be said of any faith or non-faith.

Christianity seems like a guise for people to do something that is of human inclination, have community and be together. There are many other ways to do this.

NOTE: This post is in majority, an opinion (my opinion) like many parts of my other posts.

P.S. How do I delete my account?

All of your words tell me one thing about you. You think you can just figure everything out. You think you know it all. You think that humans can figure everything out with earthy and corruptible knowledge which shall inevitably perish in the end. Have you ever heard of the Linkin Park song, "In the End", well its just like that, "In the End, It doesn't even matter", for all shall die and return to dust. You will take nothing in the otherworld with you. What's going to be to figure out when you're dead or dying? You'll probably be crying out to the God you don't believe in. It doesn't matter what they discover by this generation or what kind of new technology they will come up with, they will never figure out the remedy for death and suffering without Jesus Christ.

You don't believe in God because you think that evolution just magically created everything out of nothing because of some magical "Big Bang" that was caused by mere chance. Well, we Christians believe in the Big Bang, God went "Bang!", and it happened. Christians believe in Intelligent Design, for nothing could ever prove nature unless it has been designed by a Super Wise being such as Almighty God (Who is even beyond being)

Intelligent Design my friend is much more logical when it comes to this, for atheists think that chance could have created a universe - but this is totally impossible because the universe is made of laws which are based upon pure intelligence.

You think that humans can figure everything out with earthy and corruptible knowledge which shall inevitably perish in the endTrue and you point being???. Have you ever heard of the Linkin Park song, "In the End", well its just like that, "In the End, It doesn't even matter", for all shall die and return to dust. You will take nothing in the otherworld with youAssuming there is an otherworld.. What's going to be to figure out when you're dead or dying? What colour will my coffin be? You'll probably be crying out to the God you don't believe inUnless I am cursing because I am dying painfully, this will not be true. Death is death, it happens all the time, just as birth.. It doesn't matter what they discover by this generation or what kind of new technology they will come up with, they will never figure out the remedy for death and suffering without Jesus ChristHahahaahahah, That's the problem is it? Death is humanity's great fear, therefore the answer is God? Why can't we accept that death is the end? Why can't you accept a temporary life. Does that not still mean you should be good to others for goodness sake?.

You don't believe in God because you think that evolution just magicallySure, HAHA, like God magically created everything. There is more basis for evolution than six days and the seventh rest day of making things and saying they were good.created everything out of nothing because of some magical "Big Bang" that was caused by mere chanceProbability may not actually be something that really was part of whatever you can call the before Big Bang, which is senseless because time hadn't begun.. Well, we Christians believe in the Big Bang, God went "Bang!", and it happened. Christians believe in Intelligent Design, for nothing could ever prove nature unless it has been designed by a Super Wise You assume this, intelligence begets intelligence.being such as Almighty God (Who is even beyond being)

Intelligent Design my friend is much more logical when it comes to this, for atheists think that chance could have created a universe - but this is totally impossible because the universe is made of laws which are based upon pure intelligenceActually they think the laws of our Universe were dictated in the early stages of the Big Bang, if it were to be repeated, we could have many different laws. Once again, as in all your arguments and mine. It's purely speculation, your are making an assumption which is your opinion. Therefore, being a Christian is a choice and in my opinion, not some divine or super-natural experience. .
You seem to have become upset over my arguments. Please tell me how to delete my account, and you can continue believing whatever you want with others of the same mind-frame. I did not join this account because I was going to experience a welcome wagon of mutual belief. I came to test Christianity. It appears to be like all other religions, it's either true to you or not, without proof. (FAITH not FACT)
I will say this, I do not believe in the Big Bang, because it is only a theory. However it is a much more plausible theory than Creation. Points listed in other posts.

It seems you had already made up your mind about what you believe in whatislove. The early writings that were all put together in order to make up the bible were actual accounts of what was happening in those days. Back then, there was a person that would document what was going on as it happened in order to capture the moment as accurately as possible. It's up to us to decide if we believe in them or not. Those of us that do believe them are Christians. It's by faith that we believe.

I'm not going to try and convincef you what I believe because it seems that you are already firm in what you believe. I believe in what the bible teaches and hold firm to those teachings. The bible talks about the after life. It makes it clear what will happen if we choose God and if we choose to walk away from God.

I will keep praying for you because I truly believe that God is calling ALL of his children to follow Him. I appreciate your honestly in your posts, in spite of disagreeing with the posts that you have read.

Im not usually in bible debates too here on CC, but i would like only to clear that Christianity is not like other religions, it is the only one religion in which God died to pay for the sins because of love to us and in which all the law is based on love too.

I don't know why I didn't recommend this earlier, but this book, The Case For Christ, by Lee Strobel, may have some of the things you are looking for.
I have not read the book entirely, nor will (unless for some reason I do). But from what I've read, Strobel goes and asks questions about the authenticity of the whole matter, mainly the Gospels and who Jesus was. Although, I'm not sure it covers the miracles part.

Read it. ;) I've read plenty of Christian books and otherwise. I still don't have the faith they describe. I consider it fake. He also has the case for the Creator. Good writer, terrible sources and extremely biased.

I'll give you the short answer. Christianity, Islam, Judisim and Satanisim are the only religions that I know of who's God is alive. Why worship a God who is dead. Seems pathetic to worship a dead guy or inanimate objects who are worse off then you. Satanisim doesn't make sence to me because I don't want to follow what's evil. Evil is bad and bad is wrong. Not very confusing... Judisim ignores the fact that Jesus Christ fulfilled every requirement for the Messiah that they've been looking for for the past 2,400 years or so. And Islam has the Holy Bible as one of it's holy books but claims that Jesus Christ was just a high ranking prophet instead of the Son of God all while the Holy Bible makes it clear that Jesus is the Son of God.

That's the logical answer. My personal answer is because I have found love, joy, peace, self-control, meekness, gentleness, kindness, faith, and goodness in Jesus Christ.

You really can't "make" yourself have faith to believe in Jesus Christ's saving power; it has to come from God (base your faith not on the winsome words of men, but on the power of God, alone). If you are truly open-minded, then you can tell God that you will give Him your life, if He will reveal the truth to you, and if you really mean it, then He will do it. It sounds like you might not be at a point where you would really mean it yet (which is fine). However, if you ever are ready to level with God, then go straight to Him, and let HIM show you The Way. Because you really shouldn't take ANY man's word for it; that would be a blind faith. I'm not into blind faith, and I don't incourage you to be, either. Go straight to The Source! (when you're ready) :) Love, -Nichole

You have something in your ear called the vestibular system. Maybe you could call it your six sense of balance. It's a measure of force. There are no instruments to measure spiritual or "God" force. Good and evil are "forces" in a way, but they come from people, not the "super-natural realm". That only occurs in movies and comic books.

I have read the bible.
Ok. Then you should...
Read the Torah, read the Vedas, read Upanishads, learn the native faiths, read the Koran or Coran, read Confucius teachings, read Toaist writings, read Buddhist texts, read them all. Believe they are the word of God or Gods. Pray or meditate or sing praises, and try to live a peaceful and virtuous life.

I think you need to stop questioning faith and God and just believe. Stop trying to figure out the logic behind it and just believe that God loves everyone more than we can realize and he sent his Son to die for us. Faith is believing in things unseen. We FEEL God. We KNOW he is there. Though we dont see him or know everything about him we have faith in Him because I trust in him. He has the ability to let us know everything about Him and his love, but he doesnt.
Just sit down and pray. God answers your prayers just sometimes not how we want him too or when we want him too. And you cant pray and give him a time limit to answer you!
Instead of just reading the Bible... study it. Summarize it. see what God wants you to get from it.
The Bible is THE BOOK OF LIFE. The Korah, coran and Toaist were written by people. The Bible was written by people... but it was written by God through those people.
There is a supernatural realm. There are demons. There are angels. There is THE GOD. there is Satan. There is a constant battle going on for your soul/...... for my soul... for everyones. That is what temptation is. Demons tempting you. Satan tempting you.
Christianity is not like all other religions. Look at other religions some of there stories about their gods are based off of the bible and other Bible stories.
Christianity is the only religion where someone died for mankind. That perfect someone was God's son. Buddah didnt die for me. Muhamed didnt die for me. No Greek Gods died on a cross for me. Therefore.. Jesus is the only way.
No one can force you to have faith. If you dont thats a loss.
Its all between you and God.

What you are not getting is that the Bible is the story of GOD trying to find man, not man trying to find God. The Bible is the story of God's Victory over all of the idols (False God's). Because the God(s) of all of the other Religions are Idols (False God's) that do not exist.

Do not believe in any other ancient documents other than the Bible, for you yourself know within your own self that the Commandments (such as the 10 Commandments) in it were given to us by God for our instruction.
And it really is, the Bible is God's own teachings which He uses in order to reveal the Truth. The God of the Bible is the One True God, and therefore He is the God of All Truth and All Life.

There is no book like the Bible in all of the world. It is the true book of God. Only it can reveal what the Truth is.

There also is God's Church as well which is the proof of Christianity. Christ's Church is the presence of Christ on the earth. Numerous miracles have been worked by the holy one's of this Church. This Church is the Orthodox Church of Christ of course.
