Hi, I'm a single mother of two beautiful children. I love the Lord. I am desperate for some answers. In the space of 7 months I lost my husband, finances, job & business + so much more. I've pretty much been reduced to little. The Lord is my Provider and Protector - I believe this. At this point I need direction of what He wants me to do at this point in time, in the area of finances/provision. I have ideas in my head...but also so much confusion of what He wants for me.

I've spend time in prayer, fasting, reading His word, praise and worship..but am still walking in circles in the wilderness.

This little line of prayer became important for me,
Save me, O Lord, like Thou did drowning Peter, So also save me who am drowning in this most turbulent life.
I don't dare to offer advice in a situation far above what I can as of yet comprehend... but I can offer encouragement..
You path has become rocky, and your cross is difficult to bear. God has blessed you to endure misfortune, and in no way does he abandon you!!
As Job endured terrible misfortunes he united the passing and temporal life of earth with the heavenly and blessed kingdom of heaven!
There is a prayer service in my church called an akathist... there was an akathist written by a monk who was imprisoned in the Soviet gulag and it was entitled "Glory to God for All Things" he wrote it from the gulag.... The memory of this man inspires me to keep going.
We know that as our struggle gets harder, our maturity in faith in Jesus Christ also grows.. God does not give us loads that we cannot bear, this is what I believe.
Lord have mercy on us!

Hi Melonie,

One piece of advise for you is to contact your pastor. If there's something I'm struggling with whether it be with work or home I find that my pastor tends to point me in the right direction. Maybe your pastor can help give you some bible verses to read that will help you get through this tough time.

I can't relate to losing a husband but I have been a single mother and know that every day is a constant struggle not only with finances but with the upbringing of my children. Child rearing is tough enough when there are 2 parents but it's twice as hard for a single parent. I think you're doing the right thing by turning to God and his Gospel.

At my church we are currently doing an adult bible study every Wednesday night throughout the summer. This summer we are reading a book entitled "Jesus + Nothing = Everything" I highly recommend this book as it has helped me in many different ways already and we're only through chapter 4.

God Bless you and your family as you go through this difficult time. My heart aches for you and I only hope that your prayers can bring you some sense of comfort. I will keep your family in my prayers as well.

You only think you are walking in circles in the wilderness because he hasn't quiet finished with your situation and he hasn't revealed his will as of yet....never lose hope. when you are confused simply lean back in trust that he has "GOT THIS" God wants us to depend on him for everything. He wants us to need him. He is our heavenly father. Have faith little one.
