New dude whoa!!!!!!

Okay so new guy here! New to the site new to Christianity and uhh new to this awesome new life I've been given. I enjoy reading the forums and pitch in my 2 cents when I'm moved to. I live in the mountains and still haven't found a good church yet so many different ones out there so I've been told to "shop around". Any opinions on that one? I know what I'm looking for I want a good bible centered church obviously but that's almost all of them. I don't want anything big that I can't really sit down with the pastor or anything too small they're struggling to make it. Man I'm picky . Also want to stay away from the fire and brimstone type places, in my opinion and experience they are pretty judgemental and harsh. I believe if we treat unbelievers and sinners with love and guide them to Christ it would be a lot better than pointing our fingers and looking down on them. Just my humble newbie opinion thanks

Also, as a new christian please be weary about the things that people post on Christian Chat. If what they say doesn't line up with the bible, don't believe it. There are also a lot of people on here who don't know how to be kind (christian or not), so let us show them what kindness is.


Other than that, please be welcomed here, it's a wonderful site with wonderful people.

pray and let God lead you. Sometimes people think others are being mean and judgmental and its just a misunderstanding. You just have to find a church that follows the BIble and some people who have the Fruits of walking with the Holy Spirit: love, joy, patience, gentleness, kindness, self control. Not everyone in the church will be mature and someone is bound to offend you or you offend them at some point but the key is to forgive and learn to live with other christians because they are Family and you shouldn't just give up and abandon family.

Satan's favorite tactic is to isolate you and cause you to judge others not worthy of your time, make it so you don't forgive them, etc.

Instead learn to love them and grow with them even if they aren't perfect because God loves you even though you are still learning and are not perfect either.

Picking up where I left off...
grumpy (he's 2) and I put him to sleep and was messing with my suitcase and banged my head on the nightstand and the bible fell out and hit me on the head. So I started to read it. I've read it before from a more cynical standpoint but this time it seemed to make a whole lot more sense like I understood a whole lot better.
Now, I've always loved God but always detested organized religion. I'm an extremely loving person like seriously I love everyone even people that hate me my wife yells at me for it. Well being that way it annoyed me that religions would seemingly be exclusive and judgemental but the more I read the more I realized a church is about believers getting together and worshipping together not judging people. So to make a long story longer!? Jesus led me to Him and I followed . No real interesting story really

Yes its good to learn the word of God for we can do all things through christ who streghth us. i want positive people with good attitute.

No I grew up at the beach and been a surfer since I was 5 . Just thought it would be a fun title .

Hi there and welcome SeekingJC. I have to say it is an interesting story I mean literally getting hit over the head with a bible nice testament, God is so good and has an awesome sense of humour.

I agree with you about judging it is best left to those who are sinless - God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I believe the church and Jesus believers should flow with LOVE and Grace for that is what has been poured out to us from the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and these are the things that will draw many to the Kingdom of God.
